La balena del capo is a quiet, charming place where you can stay and relax, facing the sea and Stromboli and Panarea islands, surrounded by a mediterranean garden Since summer 2016: Air Conditioned!!! wi-fi in the common area
“A lovely place to slow down and relax. We loved our stay at Ray & Luisa's Balena del Capo. It is easy to get to and from there by bus (although the bus service is not that frequent, even in the height of summer) and was well-equipped for us to make dinner there one of the nights we stayed. The unit is like a large studio, but it was enough room for 3 of us. The shared outside area that is available for guests is very nice with beautiful views out to the water. The highlight of the stay was the dinner we hired Ray to make for us - every course was delicious and he even made both meat and fish courses when we said that our teenager, who is an otherwise adventurous eater, does not love fish (in fact, our kid tried and enjoyed all of the fish parts of the menu too)! I highly recommend going for one of Ray's dinners and would love to stay again if we are ever back in Sicily.”
Stay in a typical eolian style house, with its large walls that protect from heat and its beautiful terrace that overlooks a small oasis of greenery or grow orange trees, lemon trees, banana trees, grapevine and papyrus and hang out chickens. Gianluca and his family welcome you simply to the sandstone of their agricultural activities, notably the harvest of the capres and malvoisie.
“Gianluca's house is surrounded by greenery, among vines and caper plants, in the quiet town of Valdichiesa, the ideal place to relax in the cool after a day around the island. It is a typical Aeolian house, with two terraces from which to enjoy, in the evening, the view of the stars, and, by day, of the green of Monte dei Porri, one of the two volcanoes of Salina. A few steps from the AirBnb starts the path that leads to the other peak, the Monte delle Felci. Gianluca and Manuela were very kind: they welcomed us with fresh lemonade and, although they were both very busy with work, they gave us valuable advice on where to go and where to eat. We had a great dinner in the agriturismo, which is a stone's throw from the AirBnb. Gianluca's specialty is capers, which are phenomenal! Malvasia, the local sweet wine, is also worth trying. We hope to come back soon and recommend it to anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the nature of Salina!”
Nella splendida isola di Salina, in riva al mare e a 10 minuti dal centro del paese di Santa Marina troverete questa casa ristrutturata con cura . Ingresso indipendente e utilizzo di ombrellone e sdraio sulla spiaggia.
“Sole Mare is a beautiful place in a picturesque location - even better than the photos depict. Virgina and her family made us feel so welcome and we would not hesitate to recommend them as hosts. They were there if we needed anything but let us have our own space. Amenities are excellent - kitchen especially if you like to cook. The beach is pebbly so reef shoes are a must! If you want a little piece of authentic Salina then this tranquil and laid back place is for you. We loved it and hope to visit again.”
