“Highy recommend this cottage. We had a lovely stay here and would love to return in the near future. Perfect location as it was a 2 minute drive to cong town which has great bars and restaurants, right beside Ashford castle with lovely walkways and an afternoon tea. Friendly host with easy and quick check in. This Air bnb was sparkling clean not a fault to be made.”

“The Residence is a spacious, clean and cosy stay with Cait going above and beyond the call of duty to provide us with a comfortable stay. We stayed with a toddler and baby and Cait supplied toys, a travel cot, stair gate and high-chairs which was brilliant! The house was spotless and Cait showed us where to put any of our rubbish, where to find wood for the fire and how to use all amenities. Cait was great at replying to us, never had to wait too long for a reply which gave us great peace of mind on our stay We were staying here as part of a pilgrimage to Knock and it was very close, just 15minutes down the road and is actually right next door to a Church, which we enjoyed calling into with the children in the morning and evening to pray together. Wish we could have stayed longer, but will definitely look into this property again next time we visit Knock :)”
The house is on an acre of private property in the heart of County Mayo in the west of Ireland. The views from the front of the house are of Lough Carra, a 4,000 acre lake famous for it's fishing and diverse wildlife.
“Believe all the reviews, this spot really is as lovely as everyone says. Set in its own private grounds, right on the lake, this is an ideal getaway for, well, anyone looking to get away! Unfortunately, I wasn't blessed with good weather during my stay, but I still spent plenty of time out on the deck watching the lake and the many different inhabitants. I saw frogs, a swan family, starlings, moorhens, robins, magpies and, on my final morning, a grey heron, all up close (the frog sat in my hand!) . Completely unspoilt and with great woodland/ forest walks nearby in Moorehall. A really special place to stay. Bring all your own food and have a completely off-the-grid self-catering break. Also ideal for dark-sky watching- absolutely zero light pollution on a lake in a forest around 25 mins drive from any towns! Again, unfortunately, the weather didn't allow for much of this during my stay but I had just as good a time sat by the fire with the wind and rain beating down outside. Felt very safe here, despite being near nothing or no one. Really wish I'd had just one more day! For entertainment, Ballinrobe is a lively town with everything you could need (including a massive Tesco's for stocking up!) on an easy route around 25 mins drive away. Claremorris is roughly the same distance in another direction, lots of good places to eat and friendly people and independent shops. The cottage is simply a delightful place to zone out and enjoy wildlife. Absolutely delightful accommodation, a real find”
