El Bulli Farm private and quiet one bedroom cottage on our 4 acre hobby farm. Separate from Main House. Located just outside Dixon city limits.
“Enjoyed our stay here at El Bulli including a toasty fire one cold evening. Only wish we could have had more time to enjoy the ambience (this is the first time I've considered a cow an "amenity"). Also recommend a couple of places in Dixon just 5 minutes away on W. 1st St.: Somkit (Thai food) and The Crystal Court (fantastic wine bar), which we enjoyed one evening followed by the Gingko Tree Cafe for breakfast the following morning.”
This rustic 3 bedroom country house hosts a relaxing getaway & friendly gatherings. Settled on 2 acres in a quaint, historic village, there are no street lights and unfiltered views of the stars. Get away from the crowds, relax & enjoy ample outdoor space, including a fire-pit and charcoal grill. Hike, canoe, and explore the nearby rolling hills, forests & river valleys. Close to John Deere, Lowden and Castle Rock State Park, and Nachusa Grasslands. 10 min drive to Dixon and Oregon IL.
“Amazing location! Feels like a peaceful historic village with beautiful old homes, but only 10 minutes to town. Erin and Jeff were so responsive and helpful. Erin took the time to checked our carriers cell signal before we arrived. For those looking for things to do, you are walking distance to the John Deere museum and the Rock River. In addition, there is a beautiful old church in the neighborhood that would be an awesome setting for a wedding. Thanks again for such a wonderful experience. Todd and Deb”
Lil House On The Prairie (LHOTP) is aptly named because it’s located on the edge of Nachusa Grassland’s 1,000 acre south Bison pasture. The 100+ herd of free ranging Bison can often be viewed right along the boundary fence to the west! This recently remodeled two bedroom cottage can sleep six with two queen size beds and with a pull out sofa bed. LHOTP offers a quiet, convenient, and comfortable place to base your adventures from. Behaved dogs & responsible owners welcome!
“Home was spacious, clean and comfortable. Loved the well appointed kitchen. We started the day cooking breakfast with the eggs and English muffins and coffee provided. Watching the bison out the window while eating was a treat. Earl gave us a list of restaurants for the rest of our meals. The bed was comfortable.”
