“All we can say is wow! This little gem is near the Ohio river and I really hate to tell everyone how great this place is because it will quickly be booked before we get a chance to book it ourselves again. This location was very private and had everything you needed there. 2 Bedrooms with the master bedroom that had a balcony to it. A large hot tub outside on the ground floor in a covered area that was really nice. Washer and dryer, plenty of hot water for showers. Derby, Indiana is a very small town of about 300 people that does have a small gas station / general store We went to the local bar / restaurant just down the street and talked with the friendly owner, Denise, and met some of the locals! Very nice people. If you want to kick back, slow down, and just chill and be private this is the place to go. Hidden near the Hoosier Forrest, you get to hear only the sounds of nature and not some highway noise while relaxing. There is a charcoal grill and a fire pit with a grill available. Cable tv. 4G is spotty at times but that is really ok because sometimes we really just need to shut off the phone and social media! This is a great place to let that happen. I'm sure we will be returning! Thanks for being a superhost!”

“This is a beautiful place set in a spectacular location. Tammy is a wonderful hostess, and has done a great job decorating the home. We were there during the pandemic, and had no concerns about cleanliness; it was spotless. We stayed for a week, so the laundry facilities were a big help! It is a very quiet spot; however, do plan to travel a bit for groceries or to do activities elsewhere. We hope to find an excuse to return!”
The Hawk's Nest is a newly-built, authentic, hand-crafted log cabin with all the modern amenities. It sits on a bluff overlooking the Ohio River and serene Kentucky farmland. Located 5 minutes from I-64 in Crawford County Indiana, the cabin is easy to reach. The site is park-like & private, although not totally secluded. The cabin contains a full bath & kitchen. It also has heat/AC, TV, gas grill & private hot tub. Rent a cabin, relax, and watch the river boats float by!
“Beautiful cabin on the river. The pictures do it no justice. This space is perfect for 2 people, and the hot tub is relaxing at night! During our stay we were able to hike through Hemlock Cliffs, tour Marengo Cave, and we made a trip into Louisville, KY for Saturday evening. Many fun things to do around the area. Karen was a great host, and I highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking to unplug and unwind for a weekend.”
