“A gem. We stayed here for a month and were sad to leave. Excellent property nestled in a private area surrounded by trees with neighbors far off only on one side. Great deck and grill. Comfy beds. Stocked with cookware in kitchen. Also proximity to main street and the lake was perfect. A five minute drive or short bike ride. Short drive to several breweries and restaurants. Our host Dave was very helpful and fast to communicate with. We will be back at some point !”
The cozy Farmhand Cabin overlooking the stream is secluded among the willow trees in the lower pasture of a working livestock farm. Walk to the dairy barn, farmhouse and farm kitchen. Horses, goats, sheep, cattle and chickens wake you to an incredible farm and food experience. Enjoy farm programs and workshops such as Farmer for a Day, milk a goat, bottle feed a lamb, cuddle a chick, eat farm food expertly prepared using the farm's meat, dairy, and produce. “My husband and I wanted to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for the weekend so we decided to stay at the Farmhand Cabin. We don’t have any regrets as our stay from start to finish was breathtaking! The limited phone service and no WiFi was much needed to escape for a bit. Tom, Denise, and Shane were such amazing hosts. Prior to our stay, I had so many questions but they were answered in a timely manner and with accuracy. Upon our arrival, we were amazed with the peaceful environment (the stream, birds chirping, and the sounds of the farm animals). The cozy cabin was very clean and the beds were SO comfortable. The out house was also very clean. My husband and I also enjoyed lighting the fire pit each night to keep warm while also enjoying the stars. In addition, Denise’s home cooked meals were DELICIOUS and they were delivered in a cute picnic basket to our cabin (communicated the meal option beforehand). On our last day, we did the “Farmer for a Day” experience with Tom (highly recommend). We learned so much about the animals. During the experience we transported chickens, visited different farm animals, picked some eggs, created new fencing for sheep, etc. The experience ended with a delicious lunch cooked by Denise. This whole experience made me appreciate farmers way more. We would love to visit again!”
Enjoy this brand new authentic log cabin tucked into the woods for seclusion. There is a wonderful front porch to look out over the mostly level to gently sloped 10+/- acres. Inside, this custom-built 10′ log home is an open great room with cathedral ceiling, a bedroom on the main level with an open loft bedroom above. The beautiful kitchen and bathroom are charming and constructed handsomely. The woodstove keeps the cabin cozy. The downstairs bedroom has a full size bed and the upstairs has a queen size bed. The property is on a private road with fishing and hunting opportunities nearby and is just under 3 hours from the GWB. We are centrally located between several ski slopes, including Hunter Mountain, Ski Windham, Plattekill and Bellayre mountains for the winter season. Or take in an Oneonta Tigers game during the summer, or swim and play at the local village pool / play ground. We’re just 20 minutes from the Soccer Hall of Fame in Oneonta, and 30-40 minutes from the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. Or if you want to just take in the country landscape there are an abundant number of nearby trails for hiking, running, cross-country skiing & snowmobiling. Plenty of convenient access to state land for all your hunting & fishing needs. Nearby college’s include Suny Delhi, Suny Oneonta, Suny Cobleskill, and Hartwick College.
“This cabin was the perfect getaway during this pandemic. I was looking for something off-the-grid and quiet to hide from the chaos of the world temporarily. And Michael’s cabin couldn’t be better suited. The check-in instructions were clear, the cabin was clean, and Michael was very attentive. Ironically I didn’t have much service up there (Sprint) to call/text Michael even if I did need him but when I did he was quick to reply. This retreat inspired me to favorite all of Michaels other cabins on AirBnB and I look forward to checking them out as well next time the anxiety of the world boils up again... ...which is probably soon, at this rate!”
