The Buck Mountain Lodge apartment is ideally located in a quiet mountainside setting just 5 minutes from the shops and restaurants of West Jefferson and a half hour from Boone. Area outdoor activities abound with great hiking, fishing, tubing, canoeing, and kayaking all close by; an ideal area for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits, and of course there are the Christmas trees! If you are looking for a great mix of quaint mountain towns and spectacular outdoor activities, this is the place to be.
“Mary’s place is a great spot to stay! Very spacious and has everything you need. The kitchen is beautiful and is fully stocked with everything you need for cooking and there are spices and condiments in the refrigerator to use as well. The porch has a beautiful view for enjoying your morning coffee. They are close to downtown West Jefferson and the grocery store. Mary and Larry were quick to respond and very accommodating whenever we needed anything. We enjoyed staying here!”
Located in beautiful, historic downtown West Jefferson, UpTown Loft is a great place to stay and see the NC mountains without roughing it. This two bedroom two bath loft has a large master suite and two queen beds. There is a fully-equipped kitchen for those who love to cook. We are one to two blocks from restaurants, bars, bakeries, coffee shops, cafes, galleries, shops, parks, the farmers market, and a first-run movie theater.
“Ken’s apartment is SO great. We went for a couples’ trip which was originally supposed to be for the Christmas in July festival and decided to keep the place despite the festival being cancelled due to COVID. We are so glad we went! There is so much room and space. The apartment has so much personality. Toiletries, towels, and all kitchen utensils you’d ever need are provided. The rooms are HUGE and the claw foot table in the master bath is beautiful. Check in was great. They even sent me a message and told me we could check in early. The location is perfect. We never drove our car. Ashe cheese, a wine shop, several restaurants and coffee shops, and many craft and artisan stores and antique shops are located within a 5 minute walk. We had an amazing stay. We will definitely be back!”

“Wow. Just wow. Richard's cozy cabin is that and SO much more. I went looking to relax and unwind, and that is exactly what I got. Directions were on point. I saw it when we came up the hill. The grounds are beautifully landscaped I could see the bench out front and I knew I was hooked. The gazebo, was my favorite spot to sit. I sat there for hours! Inside was much more than I expected. So many shelves of books and games. It was so cutely decorated vaulted ceilings made me feel small in this 1 bedroom. There was EVERYTHING you needed from shampoo to linens, and skillets to cooking oil. I had a few questions for Richard and he responded so quickly. He checked in to see how I was, which was so thoughtful. The wifi was strong in all areas of house. Smart TVs allowed me to relax to a movie before bed. Overall I am so pleased with my stay. Richard is a great host. And I throughly enjoyed my stay. It was just long enough to relax and recharge.”
