“This cozy home in Lompoc was absolutely incredible. The house was clean, the beds were comfortable, the shower was hot (in a good way), and the view was amazing. There’s plenty of space to stretch out and watch tv, eat at the dining table, or cook in the lavish kitchen. The backyard outdoor area was also a great place to just relax after a long day. If you’re a dog person, this stay is totally for you as their dog is a whole lot of love and very well behaved. If not, that’s cool too, but just message Alesia so they know to keep the doggo out of your way. Overall, this was an incredible place to stay, especially for the money, and our family had an amazing visit. We would definitely recommend staying here and would do so again!”
Our cottage is perfect for a wine country get away! Situated in the heart of Ballard, this central location is just minutes from Los Olivos, Solvang and Santa Ynez and surrounded by tons of wineries and delicious restaurants. The cottage is very comfortable and cute. We have AC and heat to fit every season. The queen size bed is very comfortable as well. There’s a great courtyard with string lights and a fire pit to enjoy. Please let us know the duration you would like to stay.
“I stayed in both cottages and loved the experience. They are super comfortable, felt very private, and in gorgeous grounds walking distance from some great wineries and a fantastic restaurant. Our host was amazing with communication after we left some belongings accidentally and assisted us promptly to get them returned. Will definitely be visiting again!”

“My family (two adults, a 4-year old, and a 2-year old) spent two nights here in June 2020. Marcia and Rene are fantastic hosts. Quick, excellent communication via email, and extremely friendly and personable once we arrived. The property is about a ten minute drive from Solvang, nestled among gently sloping vineyards and countryside. Once through the private gate, it's a short distance down a private drive to the two-story house. A garage and the owners' house are also in the immediate vicinity. We were greeted by Marcia, who gave us a walk-through of the house. The owners provided fresh eggs from their chickens and coffee beans, and the tap water is from a well. (We stocked up on other necessities at the Solvang market before heading to the house.) A dozen or so chickens wandered the grass behind the house, pecking for bugs while a sheep bleated in the distance. The highlight for our kids were the three friendly dogs, who patiently let the kids follow and pet them. Marcia was also happy to let the kids help feed the chickens. The house itself was clean and cozy with ample space for the family to spread out. Note to those with small kids: the dining room is elevated one step from the kitchen/family room/downstairs bedroom, and there is a carpeted staircase, so you may want to use a baby gate (not provided) or other barricade. There is also some farmhouse decor, including an iron stove, china cabinet, and taxidermy animal mounts (downstairs bedroom only) that you might want to keep the kids away from. Otherwise, we had no issues letting our kids move around the house. There is a piano in the family room, and no TV, but there is WiFi. The weather hovered around 90 during the day and dropped to the low 70s at night. The downstairs area stayed comfortable all day, and we used one of the two upstairs bedroom window AC units for a couple hours during the day to keep the upstairs area cool. Outside, there are a couple of dirt walking paths that circle the property and offer views of the surrounding hills. At night, it was clear enough to see the Milky Way and even a few passing satellites with the naked eye. This is a working farm, and the nearby properties are also farms/vineyards, so don't be surprised if you hear tractors in the distance, cows/sheep, coyotes howling at night, and roosters at (or even before!) the crack of dawn. Otherwise, there is no traffic/airplane noise; just peace and quiet. There are also the expected flies, beetles, and spiders outside, but these are things that come with the great outdoors! None of us wore bug spray, and we did not come home with a single bite. All in all, we had a very positive getaway and would recommend Marcia and Rene's farmhouse for anyone looking to escape the hustle, bustle, and lights of the city.”
