Cottage holiday rentals in Lake of the Woods

We were a group 6 people and the airbnb was clean and offered a relaxing space to unwind and mingle with friends comfortably. There was plenty of extra towels and duvets. The night sky is beautiful in the hot tub with pretty low light pollution in the area!

Was a great place to stay and comfortably fit our group of 4 overnight. Host gave clear directions to cabin. Hot tub clean and inside clean. As a side note heads up: tons of mosquitos after dusk as of July due to still body water and pretty unbearable even with bug spray so plan to stay inside after dusk (even a fire with the fire pit couldn’t keep them away). Closeby to the highway as stated in other reviews but didn’t bother us during any of our activities. Closeby to Falcon with lots of other activities. Would stay here again!

What an amazing place! We loved spending time here and enjoying nature. Our 3 year old did not want to leave “the brown house” and did not want to leave Canada! We did star gazing outside the house one night and a cozy movie night inside the second night. During the day we went hiking across the border. We are already considering visiting again.

My children and I have visited this place two times and both times it was exactly what we were looking for. Lots of room, clean, peaceful, quiet pool and deck area. Diane was quick to respond to any questions we had.

Staying at Pranavs place was wonderful. Beautiful and private location. Beautiful cottage with lots of backyard and front yard space. Clean in everywhere and a beautiful hottub. So nice to sit in the hottub and see the beautiful night sky and so many stars! We will be back, my family loved it.

Matthew was polite and responsive. The cabin was clean, spacious, and exactly as described. Would definitely recommend to others!

This home is in a beautiful setting and was quiet and peaceful. We loved the hot tub and sauna. The house had an amazing layout, with bedrooms on both sides and a fantastic open concept kitchen/living room/dining room. Beds were super comfy with great sheets, blankets and pillows. Terry and Candice were wonderful hosts. We highly recommend and hope to return!

Stephanie’s place was exactly as described. Clean and well appointed. Kitchen very well stocked for a rental including some basic spices and condiments. Back yard felt like a retreat with covered gazebo, fire pit and hot tub. Main bedroom mattress quite firm, but pillows very comfortable. Starlink wifi worked like a charm! Short walk to water and 10 min walk takes you to more beach area that was not crowded at all during our visits. Great place for our pup to frolic off leash. Short 10 min drive to Grand Beach and its amenities. Stephanie and Quint were friendly and warm and highly responsive.

An absolutely amazing trip. We booked the boathouse to get away from the world for a few days and experience one of Minnesota's beautiful lakes. When we arrived at the boat landing, Julia was waiting for us and took us out to the island. During our visit, we never went further out then we could paddle. The island is a very serene setting - a perfect blend of awe inspiring nature, as well as rustic, yet very comfortable anemities. We spent our days sleeping in a comfortable bed, cooking lunch in the full kitchen while taking in the beauty of the lake, taking in the smell of the pines and exploring the waters on kayaks, paddleboards, and the aquabike. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset every night from the shore, and took our time looking at the endless stars before before retiring to the boathouse for the night. At night, we listened to the waves crash against the shore and loons sing to each other. To the people who grew up visiting the Northwoods, this will feel very nostalgic, and people who have never been will enjoy the new memories and experiences greatly. A perfect place to disconnect from the world. In addition to the wonderful nature and great boat house, Julia is an absolute gem of a person. From the moment we met her, she was so kind and welcoming. You can tell she has a great love and appreciation for the island. She was extremely responsive to questions prior to arriving, as well as when we were on the island. I cannot thank her enough.

If you have a boat, this is a wonderful home base for your Kenora vacation! Beautiful views and super clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the lawn games and swimming.

Our stay at Joels cabin was excellent. Everything was as described. There were no surprises.The cabin was very clean and well stocked with the amenities that we needed. The view from the cabin and deck was beautiful, looking out onto the clear water of Crow Lake and the Canadian Shield. Our morning coffee’s on the deck were peaceful and oh so enjoyable. Having a boat launch and boat docking space in a protected inlet that was viewable from the cabin, not only was a great convenience, but also added a nice sense of security in being able to keep an eye on our boat. The cabin is situated on a lake that has the most clear, clean water. Fishing was great right on Crow Lake for lake trout and bass. The cabin is also in close proximity to Lake of Woods, which is just across the highway. Lots of walleye, bass and crappie if that’s what you’re after. Joel, his wife and their dog Annie were excellent, gracious hosts. They afforded you your privacy, but were right there if anything was needed.

Doug was a fantastic host and very responsive and accommodating to our needs during the stay. We had to extend our stay due to work and he made this a stress free process for us. The location is beautiful and had everything we needed to make our one week stay comfortable. I would highly recommend this location and host. Thank you Doug for being so accommodating !

Cabin was clean, organized and in a beautiful location. We used the loft which was a great added space. Hosts respond quickly when we had questions. Enjoyed ice fishing on the river right next to the property, neighbor had plowed a nice walking path along the river! We really enjoyed our time, hope to come again!

We rented this cottage for family overflow for a wedding. Our family was very pleased with how extremely clean the cottage was and it was so quiet and peaceful. It was October, so the cottage had a little chill to it but there are heaters, the floors are cold so take slippers. Jillian was super helpful and even told us to take slippers and to be cognizant of the blankets not hitting the baseboard heaters. The cottage was very clean and tidy and not cluttered at all, everything feels very new and fresh. Would definitely rent it out again for guest overflow!

We enjoyed our time on the island at this great cottage. Our boat ride from the landing took about 40minutes (at ~30km/hr). The secluded location felt very private. We liked the remote wilderness experiences, but we also appreciated the modern conveniences of running water, indoor plumbing and hot showers. The kitchen was very well stocked and we made good use of the grill (BBQ) on the back deck. We enjoyed having our boats parked at the dock right in front of the cabin, coming and going (swimming, fishing and exploring) throughout our time. The dock was in great condition and protected from the wind. For us this remote location was a selling feature, but we realize it may not be for everyone. Our host was friendly and very accommodating. He stayed in a nearby cabin and was very attentive and helpful answering our questions and making sure everything worked for us. When there was a small issue with the water heater, he worked quickly to make repairs as soon as possible.

Our family had a great time staying in this gorgeous location. The kids had lots to do, and the adults loved the many hiking trails and beaches in the area. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cottage. It was clean, spacious and had a well stocked kitchen. We felt right at home and would love to come back.

Great stay as always! lots of amenities and a very clean space, this was our second stay at this cottage and was equally as lovely the second time. beach access is a little poor and the water is quite green littered with zebra mussels. No fault of the hosts but something to consider if you plan to incorporate any amount of swimming or beach lounging in your prospective stay.

We enjoyed our stay. we visited over New Years to see family in the atea so we only used the cabin for sleeping and eating breakfast. It was perfect for our needs.

What a fantastic get away location!!! Beautiful accommodations and the Tiki bar is a great gathering spot to watch the ball game in the evening. Karen was always available for questions. Thank you for a great vacation

There were five of us: four adults and one child. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, but there were a few small issues. The beds were very uncomfortable. If possible, I would kindly ask you to consider replacing them in the future. The location is great—really close to the beautiful inner lake on the property. It was also nice that there was a trampoline and a small playground for kids. That was very convenient. The sauna is definitely a big plus. Unfortunately, the hot tub wasn’t working during our stay. The cabin itself is very beautiful. Other than that, we really liked everything. We’ll come again—though maybe we’ll try a different cabin next time, hoping the beds are more comfortable there:)

We were supposed to go for the weekend, but the fire had different plans. Everyone had to evacuate. Unfortunately, we never got to stay. But Doreen's communication was impeccable and refunds were processed right away. I never met someone so respectful, kind & calm under these horrible circumstances.

This was the second time we have rented this property, excellent hostess and accommodations. Everything you would ever need is made available to you, hostess checked in to see how we were doing and if everything was going smoothly. We entertained a fair bit during the week and everyone was very impressed with the property. Surprisingly there were very few bugs or mosquitos, not sure if that is due to timing of our stay or proactive measures taken by Shelley. The deck can be confined if you have little kids running around, which we did. Would not hesitate to return!!

We had a lovely stay at Rick and Karen’s. The place was exactly as described- lots of space for 2 adults and 2 kids. The waterfront location was perfect - we paddled and fished off the dock and the sunsets were stunning. The house is as described… older farmhouse, kitchen well stocked with everything needed to prepare meals. Was very hot while we were there and the AC units worked well to keep us cool. Hosts live right next door and were very responsive to all our questions. They also recommended a trip to Hoopla Island which was a 20 min drive - and was a great suggestion… kids had a blast. Lots of great memories made.
