This was our second stay at Lucy and Eden’s. And I’m sure we will be back again! Husky Lane is the perfect base for our little family! It has all the amenities you need, location is unbeatable and is perfectly clean too. Lucy was super helpful with recommendations for whale watching too 🐳 and we were very fortunate to be able to see whales in the boat tour we booked! Thank you for having us!

Meant To Be - Cottage with Spa & Lake Access

BiancaRating, 5 stars6 days ago
Absolutely a 5 star stay! The indoor & outdoor fire pit were set up and ready to go. The surroundings were amazing! Even the bed linen was soft & cosy! The wildlife was a beautiful bonus! We were so kindly given food for the sheep and able to explore at our leisure what felt like a rainforest getaway! The spa is definitely a great touch too! Thank you so much - highly recommend!

Bendalong House -3

BilalRating, 5 stars4 months ago
We had an incredible 9-night stay at Escape Vacations’ Bendalong house. The property is beautifully set on acreage, offering a peaceful retreat immersed in nature. The pool was absolutely amazing—perfect for relaxing—and the sauna was a fantastic touch that made our stay even more enjoyable. Being surrounded by the great outdoors while still having luxury amenities made for the best of both worlds. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a serene getaway!

Ribbon Gum Retreat

GeorginaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This tiny house was the perfect nature retreat. Nestled in the trees and surrounded by birdsong, it offered exactly the kind of peace and stillness I was craving. The design of the space is both simple and beautiful—thoughtfully laid out, cozy, and with everything you need. I especially loved the large windows that brought the outside in, and the touches that made it feel cared for and welcoming..

The Elusive Lyrebird

NabinRating, 5 stars1 month ago
I recently visited a place called Elusive LyreBird, and it was truly more than I expected. From the moment I arrived, the peace and serenity of the surroundings completely won me over. The hospitality was absolutely outstanding — the hosts were genuinely warm, welcoming, and top-notch in every way. It felt like a home away from home. If I could, I would give this place more than 5 stars! I’m already looking forward to visiting again. Highly recommend Lyre Bird to anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable getaway!

Origami

AndreaRating, 5 stars1 day ago
Origami is such a beautiful hidden gem - tucked away where we could enjoy the peaceful surrounds and wildlife. Tom left very clear communications and was quick to respond if we had any issues. Would recommend this for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy some time switched off!

Peace by the River - spacious family retreat

CarlosRating, 5 stars2 months ago
I took my son and family to this awesome spot, and we had a blast! It’s super peaceful, right by a beautiful water reserve—perfect for chilling, kayaking (they provide kayaks and life jackets!), or having a fish right off the property. The house is big and comfy, with three bedrooms and bathrooms, plus a killer verandah for BBQs and river views. The fenced backyard was great for my son, and there’s even a basketball court and park next door that we loved. It’s close to beaches like narrawallee beach too. Honestly, such a fun, relaxing getaway—we can’t wait to go back!

Your guide to Lake Conjola

All About Lake Conjola

With its deep, cobalt blue waters, impressive artificial reef, and swathes of soft golden sand, Lake Conjola is a gem in the crown of Shoalhaven’s beach towns. This whole section of the South Coast is known for its beautiful beaches and waters that are perfect for all manner of sports — from snorkelling to surfing to kayaking — and Lake Conjola is a lesser-known haven. The village, located on the south side of the lake, is a quiet, charming coastal town with an old-timey general store, lakeside boardwalk, recreational club, plus a number of bars and eateries.

On the northern side of the lake, Conjola National Park sprawls out into a nature lover’s paradise, where the lakes kiss the ocean and beaches nestle up next to bushland and forests. As you wander this untamed landscape, look out for kangaroos, echidnas, and black cockatoos. The other side of the town is hugged by Narrawallee Creek Nature Reserve, renowned for its incredible birdwatching.

The best time to stay in a holiday rental in Lake Conjola

The weather is fairly mild all year round in Lake Conjola, but considering this is such a hotspot for water sports, most people prefer to visit in the warm summer months. During this season, you can expect uninterrupted sunshine throughout the Shoalhaven region, and while many beaches tend to fill up with surfers and sunbathers, Lake Conjola is usually a more tranquil place to be. In spring, the National Parks that border the lake erupt in a kaleidoscope of wildflowers, and in autumn, the trees undergo a stunning transformation. Late autumn and early winter are usually the rainiest seasons around here, so keep that in mind when planning your trip and pack accordingly.

Top things to do in Lake Conjola

Kayaking and paddleboarding

Rent a kayak or paddleboard from the general store and take to the water, watching as tropical fish zigzag under the surface. As you meander around the lake, you’ll pass old fishing shacks and get glimpses of kangaroos and parrots through the trees.

Burrawang Track

Start at Conjola Lake and follow the Burrawang Track to Buckley’s Point, weaving through Narrawallee Creek Nature Reserve. Along the way, you’ll pass through some of the most untamed nature in the region — from burrawang trees with their sunken trunks to endangered bangalay sand forests and coastal rainforests. Sea eagles swoop over sandy beaches and dolphins play in the distance.

Wine tasting

Shoalhaven may be known primarily for its unspoilt beaches, but it’s also home to award-winning wineries and charming antique shops. Head inland towards Milton for great antiquing and explore the surrounding Ulladulla Wine District. The vineyards around Milton, Mollymook, Burrill Lake, and Bawley Point are beloved for their Verdelho, Sauvignon Blancs, and a unique hybrid blend called Chambourcin.
