The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, wifi, dishwasher, microwave, air heat pump, wood sauna, shower, indoor toilet and washing machine. From the sauna you can jump into the lake, whose sandy bottom deepens gently. Good road to the house and good opportunities for outdoor activities, mushroom picking and berry picking in the environment. Kouvola, Tykkimäki and Mielaka ski resort are only 20-25 minutes away and less than 2 hours drive from the Helsinki metropolitan area.

The house was built in 1948, just after the Continuation War. Information about its history is a bit difficult to find, but at some point the house has been inhabited by stevedores working in the nearby old port, and from that the house has been named the "stevedore house".
