Nice small cottage in the nature. Very close to both Otepää and Kääriku. Depending whether the larger house is also rented out or hosts are around, the cottage is either very private or there are neighbours next door. Hosts were very relaxed and friendly. Overall an excellent secluded peaceful location.

I had a great time in Erik's house. Such a great hospitality and warmness. that's already 5 stars. if you look for silence it's the place - don't expect a "perfect" tiny house - it needs some work you normally wouldn't do so be prepared. During our stay, two things stood out with equal magnitude, the generosity of Andre (his friends, brother and family), and the beauty of the cottage/lake. If south eastern Estonia is on your list, visiting the area should be on the agenda without a doubt. We stayed there for a week and have not yet scratched the surface. There’s a lot to do there in terms of hiking, cycling and exploring the hidden gems, let alone the daily swims in the lake and enjoying the sauna. It’s possible to have both a calm, relaxing time in the cottage, and a wonderful time experiencing the beauty of the region and the kindness of its people. We started the journey knowing that we would be happy to treat ourselves with this part of Estonia which we hadn’t visited before and ended up knowing that we will revisit Rõuge. Thanks Andre for making our visit special and see you again soon.

For lovers of camping and those not in need of great comfort, this is for sure one of the most unique spaces on Airbnb. As you can see, the accommodations are inside a row of boat sheds, but there is electricity, a heater, comfortable bed, small fridge. Just know that the stairs are super narrow, there is no running water or flush toilet, no shower. But! You can row out of your space into the scenic lake anytime. Of course, the per night price in these sheds is exceedingly high for what you get, as is the case with a vast majority of listings on this site, yet the uniqueness of the stay and the stunning water/castle view tips the scales such that most people will have a pleasantly memorable stay. The only thing that could really disturb the stay is if there are y Neighbours - even non noisy ones as everything can heard through the thin walls. But often the place is empty. In general, this location is one of my all time favourites.
