Located in Nishijin, Kyoto (the birthplace of Nishijin brocade, a luxury silk fabric), the nearly 100-year-old building was renovated in 2023 to create a small, home-like inn, Enclosure KAKOI. You can rent the entire house for only one group per day, with friends, family, or roommates. The first floor of the building has an entrance, living room, kitchen, bath, and toilet, and the second floor has a Japanese-style room. It is used with futons, not beds. Cookware is also available for cooking. Supermarket and convenience store are within a 5-minute walk. Bus stops going east, west, south, and north are within 2 to 8 minutes, making it a perfect place to stay for those who enjoy sightseeing in Kyoto, long-term stays, reunions, etc. You can walk to Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, Kamisannen, etc. You can hear the sound of looms in the back alleys, and you may encounter maiko and geisha. Easy access to spots such as Kinkakuji Temple, Arashiyama, Kyoto Imperial Palace, Ginkakuji Temple, and Kiyomizu Temple. You can also walk to nearby historic Funakata Onsen in 17 minutes.

It is a 1-minute walk to the hot springs and Daikokuji Temple, which has deep ties to tea. This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. Private cypress bath and renovated rooms and made another entrance for the Guests. So now it is 2 separate house Please check the house rules before you book.
