Sanctuary Woodland Guest House!

Our guest house is located on a picturesque 5 acres, next to a woodland forest. We also run a bird sanctuary on the property, Georgia's Place Bird Sanctuary, which makes this a paradise for an animal lover! We are happy to give guests a tour of our sanctuary. There is a large deck and fire pit for an enjoyable evening, and a walking trail for wildlife enthusiasts! We kindly ask guests not to bring meat onto the property as we are running a sanctuary that promotes compassion for all animals.

The Gurler House

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway! The Gurler House, built in 1857, was one of the first homes built in DeKalb and is on the National Register of Historic Places. This beautifully updated home sits back in a gorgeous park-like setting surrounded by mature trees. While nestled in a peaceful neighborhood, it is within walking distance to downtown DeKalb, only 2 blocks from the Egyptian Theatre and all the downtown shops and restaurants and only a couple minutes away from NIU.

Victory Reigns Ranch Horse Hotel and Bed and Breakfast boasts a beautiful ranch setting close to Deer Run Forest Preserve, Oak Ridge Forest Preserve and other equestrian trails. *Come with or without your horse. We also have an RV hookup if needed along with spacious trailer and RV parking. *If interested in horse boarding during your stay a 12 x 12 barn stall is $35 per night. Private pasture turn out available for $25 per horse per night. Trailer hook up is $35 per night per trailer.

Shelby’s cottage has been part of Bluffs on the bend farm for over 65 years. It has undergone a complete overhaul and update with all the modern conveniences while retaining a country cottage charm. It is the perfect getaway for a couple. The location is next to the historic ( originated in 1924 ) Kilbuck Bluffs Forest Preserve. While being nestled in the country it is centrally located to restaurants , bars and shopping.

We are five minutes away from NIU and downtown DeKalb, and also very close to supermarkets, restaurants and coffee.
