There are many Zen temples in Kita Kamakura.This [Sumika Exploration House] is located in the mountains by small paths and stairs. Outside the large window is the ginkgo and the mimiji.You can see fresh greenery in spring, plenty of leaves in summer, yellow leaves and autumn foliage in autumn, and Ofuna Kannon in winter. There is no parking lot as it is only accessible by stairs.Instead, there is no sound of cars, all you can hear is the sound of birds chirping, the sound of rinsing around the roof, and the sound of the wind shaking the leaves. It is a large villa in the forest in Shiga City, Ibaraki Prefecture.It can accommodate up to 10 people.You can relax without worrying about the surrounding eyes. There is a large living room and 4 rooms (up to 5 people can only use 2 rooms on the 1st floor), a whirlpool bath in the bathroom, and a covered barbecue in the woods. Parking is available for 5-6 cars.It's okay to meet up with your friends locally. Because it is located in the nature, there are many insects compared to the urban area. There is an electric mosquito cleaner in the room, but it is recommended to bring insect repellent spray etc. when outdoor BBQ.

The house is just 3 minutes walk to the second largest lake of Japan. Equipped with newly renovated bath and toilet, this home is best for self driving journey. There are supermarkets, a shopping mall, laundry, post office, McDonald’s, KFC, Daiso home accessories centre in 3 min drive. With 5 min drive there is a 24 hour supermarket.

When using a wood stove or bonfire, a separate fee for firewood will be charged (1000 yen per bundle). WiFi is available. The house is also equipped with amenities to make your stay as convenient as if you were at home!
