The floors on each floor are made of cypress from Yoshino, Nara, the same material used in the construction of Horyuji Temple. It can accommodate up to 9 guests. It is also recommended for stays with friends, such as "adult school trips", creative training camps, and travelers who love architecture. There are supermarkets, cafes, Chinese restaurants, dango shops, specialty bakeries, Japanese restaurants that have won Michelin stars, famous confectionery shops, and other urban areas nearby. On the other hand, there are also quiet landscapes dotted with the old charm of Madara, where you can enjoy a relaxing stroll. Nakamiya-ji Temple, which has a national treasure, the Half-Recumbent Buddha, Hoki-ji Temple, a World Heritage site alongside Horyu-ji Temple, Jikoin Temple, which has a magnificent view overlooking the Daiheino Plain, and Mt. Sanshitsu and the Tatsuta River, which were also mentioned in the Hyakunin Isshu, are also nearby. OPEN 20 March 2026 This is [B&B Morino Akari], a quiet old kominka-style inn nestled in the mountains of Nara and Yoshino, surrounded by greenery, and limited to one group per day. (The name means "Light of the Forest") ⚫︎ During your stay, breakfast and dinner prepared by the owner are included (please refer to the photos) ⚫︎ We can also provide meals for pescatarians and vegetarians. The kitchen area is shared with Hotos. The rest is all for your exclusive use, and you can spend your time freely as if you were renting the entire building. The spacious area of approximately 230 m² can accommodate up to 8 people. It is ideal for family or group trips. There is also good access to Yoshinoyama, a famous cherry blossom viewing spot, and the World Heritage Site, Konpōzanji Temple. We have preserved the historic beams and tiled roofs while preparing the space for you to have a comfortable stay. The tranquillity of the mountains and the soft light that illuminates the night. Here, you can forget about everyday life. Because of the natural surroundings, we recommend that you come by car. This one-of-a-kind home has its own unique style. Newly built and opened in October 2023, and the host lives in the management room on the first floor, but you can use it almost as if you rent the whole building. It is perfect for those who want to stay away from the hustle and bustle. There is also a desk where you can work while feeling the sun on the edge, so it is convenient for long-term stays. The building can accommodate up to 8 people in a historic Japanese house. There is a supermarket almost next door, a coin laundry is a 1-minute walk, Family Mart is a 3-minute walk, and a car rental agency is a 3-minute walk away, making it convenient. It takes you 20 minutes from the centre of Osaka by train. It is very convenient to get to Osaka and Nara. As there are plenty of ruins and old houses nearby, we recommend cycling to see them. Of course, you can borrow a bicycle. Within walking distance there are wineries and traditional houses so you can enjoy town walking.

A newly renovated machiya town house with typical layout and a small garden, retaining the tradition of Naramachi - the old merchant town of Nara. Easy access via bus and train, supermarket, restaurants, convenience store, bakery, and a Japanese bath house just minutes away. This house belonged to a famous wood carver of "ittobori" - a traditional Nara technique of carving the wood. A projector and a record player will make your stay even more pleasant. Enjoy!
