Cottage and outdoor sauna

A small, charming cottage and a yard sauna in the beautiful landscape of the Tornionjoki river. The cottage has a toilet, a well-equipped kitchen, a fridge, a freezer, a stove and a microwave. Two fold-out sofa beds. In the courtyard sauna, you can take atmospheric saunas and plunge into the Tornionjoki River, or in winter you can cool off by rolling in the snow. The bathing water is heated in the sauna pot. The nearby main building also has a sauna and shower, which are freely available. In winter, you can see the northern lights from the cottage yard.

Villa Väylän Helmi is located in the municipality of Ylitornio, in Marjosaari, Kaulinranta village. The island is a peaceful rural setting, with mostly holiday homes. Located along the Tornionjoki River, the cottage is the choice of fishermen and holidaymakers who love the river landscape. Marjosaari is a great place to watch and photograph the Northern Lights. There are several attractions nearby and the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities. You can also easily visit Sweden, which can be reached via the Aavasaksa bridge.

The main building has a kitchen, dining area and living room. Separate toilet with washing machine and dryer, as well as an electric sauna and shower room with toilet seat. Two bedrooms (both with double beds), a loft with a sofa bed (120x200) and, if necessary, 2 extra beds. In addition, the main building has an access from the outside to the additional room upstairs, with two beds as well as armchairs and a small fridge for two. There is also an outdoor sauna and a glazed barbecue hut in the yard. A jetty on the beach.

Situated near the river, the Swedish border is just across the water, allowing for a seamless journey into Sweden, perhaps via the ice road. The absence of unnecessary lights around provides the perfect setting for observing the Northern Lights. A cozy and peaceful riverside house by the Tornio River, close to the Arctic Circle. Across the river you’ll see Sweden. Enjoy beautiful sunsets and, on dark nights, the Northern Lights right outside. Perfect for a relaxing getaway or a convenient stop on your way to Lapland or Norway. Great fishing in summer. In winter, Ritavaara Ski Resort is 35 km away and Aavasaksa slopes 28 km away. Distances: Rovaniemi 130 km, Levi 180 km, Ylläs 135 km, Kemi 100 km.

The boat shore and Ylitornio's fine sandy beaches are only about 1 km away. Ainiovaara's magnificent skiing and outdoor areas are located nearby. The Aavasaksa ski slopes are about 15 km away.
