Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Kangaroo Island Council

Amazing house in the most beautiful location. 2 minutes walk and you're on the beach with pelicans and dolphins with kangaroos in the garden too. The house is stocked with everything you could need. Kangaroo Island is one of my favourites places in the works and this house has to be one of the best on the island.

Great spot on Kangaroo Island away from anything or anyone else. 5 minute drive to a fantastic beach and about 1 hour to Remarkable Rocks. Easy to find - they must of put up a sail sign recently as it wasn't in the pictures but made it super easy to identify the driveway. This place has everything you need minus food. Hit the grocery store on your way in and enjoy disconnecting from society! also, lots of kangaroos in the morning and evening.

Absolutely loved our stay at KOKUMI! Mark and Leanne have created something truly special. The view is simply breathtaking — one of those places where photos just can’t do it justice. The apartment is incredibly well-equipped with everything you could possibly need, down to the smallest detail. The terrace is an absolute dream — perfect for morning coffee, sunset drinks, or just soaking in the beauty of the surroundings. The absolute highlight? We spotted dolphins right from the terrace — an unforgettable moment that made our stay even more magical. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. Mark and Leanne’s warm hospitality and thoughtful touches made all the difference. Communication was smooth, friendly, and super helpful from start to finish. This place is a gem, and we can’t wait to come back!

Our stay at Saltwater was absolutely amazing! Evening from start to finish was convenient. Dave was very pro active in keeping us informed about things to do around. He was there to welcome us and showed around all necessary stuff in the house. We never had to look for anything! We were travelling with a 9 month old, Dave had very generously provided us with all baby essentials and my boy enjoyed his stay just as much as us. Thank you Dave for being a great host and giving us a chance to stay at this beautiful home! The views were spectacular, we enjoyed sunrises (thanks to my LO), sunsets and some star gazing as well. We also enjoyed the origami placed in different places, it’s the small things that matter! Looking forward to staying at Saltwater again! Highly recommend.

We had a great stay at Michael and Mandys place. My boys (4 and 6) LOVED the farm animals- a real highlight to our trip! with fresh eggs, chicken cuddles and horse pats. The house was so much bigger and better than I expected. The perfect place to relax and explore the island! We hope to be back again one day!.

This is home away from home. Exceptionally clean, well equipped kitchen. Bathrooms squeaky clean. Walking distance to the beach and the shops. Certainly one of the best home to stay on the island.

We loved our time at sunrise on Falie. It lived up to its name with beautiful sunrise views every morning. The house was clean and made travelling easy with our dachshund easy.

This stay was heaven on earth! When we arrived our jaws dropped!! The views are unbelievable and we were greeted by a friendly mob of kangas. The house is stylish, generous, comfortable and beautiful. The kitchen extremely well equipped, great pantry, beds very comfortable and bathrooms lovely! We felt spoiled and treated and wanted to stay forever. Sue was an extremely gracious host who bent over backwards to help us out with a few things we needed. The resident kangaroos were a highlight (one of whom had been hand reared after losing her mom which meant she was very approachable 🙂) as were the views. We did fabulous cycles - one in Flinders Chase Nat Park and one from the house to Stokes Bay and back. This is a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED stay!

Janette and Herb run a fantastic Airbnb. We stayed for 5 nights and found the place extremely comfortable and well provisioned with everything you could possibly need. Herb is a great host and gave us some local tips, and helped us out when we needed something. I strongly recommend this if you’re looking for accommodation in the area.
