220-year-old Blue Merchant's Mansion with Seasonal Vegetable and Fruit Harvesting Experience

KAIWA NO SATO This old house is an indigo mansion built in the first year of the Bunsei era (1804) during the heyday of indigo. The main house and the sleeping area (a barn where indigo was stored) have been demolished due to aging, but the historic living room and garden have been preserved to allow guests to experience a little bit of that time, and it is used as a farmhouse inn. In the old days, "Indigofera" grew on the fertile land of the Yoshino River basin in Tokushima Prefecture, bringing great wealth to Tokushima Prefecture (Awa Province). Ancient documents on indigo, including cultural properties, are also available for viewing. Enjoy the charm of that era and Indigofera. ＝＝＝＝ Feel free to pick and eat seasonal fruits and vegetables from the adjacent fields. * Please enjoy as many figs as you like in summer and autumn. You can use the entire second floor of a newly built house in Nankoku City, which is located next to Kochi City. It is a two-unit house, and you can go directly to the 2nd floor from the private door. 2LDK, 25 tsubo (80 square meters), spacious room with a focus on interior and lighting. There is a distance from the neighboring house, and the view of the fields spreads from the window, so you can spend a quiet and relaxing time. A Healing ceramic water purifier is installed at the water source. All the water that comes out of the faucet (including the bath) is delicious water that can be drunk as it passes through the water purifier. 15 minutes by car from Kochi Airport. It is a very convenient location, 12 minutes from the highway entrance, Nangoku Interchange, and 5 minutes from Nankoku South Interchange. It is not far from Kochi City, about 15 minutes. It is a great place to use as a base for sightseeing trips, with good access to both the east and west of Kochi Prefecture. Free parking available There is also a cafe on the premises that is open from 9: 30 am to 5: 00 pm, and you can use it anytime during business hours. We offer a complimentary morning menu for guests staying between 9: 30 am and 11: 30 am. Take-out is also available. (Only drinks are served on Wednesdays)

The price is the same for 1 or 2 people, and an additional charge per person will be incurred from the 3rd person. The first floor is the living room and the second floor is the bedroom. Size: 108.5 ㎡ (1st floor 85 ㎡, 2nd floor 23.5 ㎡) If you need more than one bedroom, there are 2 Japanese-style rooms with 10 tatami mats in the back building (with separate entrances, toilets, and verandas), so you can use a total of 3 bedrooms. Please let us know at the time of booking. A total of 160 m² of space is available with an additional 51.5 m². For breakfast, we provide coffee, bread, butter, and eggs from Oniwa Farm. Use of the kitchen is limited to guests staying 3 days or more. ✳ ︎ A separate fee is charged for the use of facilities such as meals, meetings, workshops, events, and photography with people other than guests. As of 2024, mobile phones have become much easier to connect to. （no wi-fi） The air conditioner was installed in 2022, but it is only on the first floor.Enjoy the natural air. There is a fan. Firewood isn't available from May as it will be warmer.
