From 11 May to 15 October every year Mt Kinka and Gifu Castle: 2 minutes on foot to the start of the mountain trail. The view from the summit is a must-see. Gifu Castle is currently under construction and cannot be visited, but you can enjoy the cable car, the view from the observation deck and Squirrel Village. There are also hiking trails from beginner to advanced levels, so everyone from children to adults can enjoy hiking. Strolls in the surrounding area: You can enjoy strolls while experiencing history, such as at Gifu Park (10-minute walk), the Gifu Great Buddha (5-minute walk), and the old streets of Kawaharamachi (15-minute walk). 10 minutes by car from Gifu Station 🏡 Comfortable family and group stays Fully air-conditioned, with an atmospheric ceramic bath, and comfortable for large groups. [House story] This house was born out of a childhood dream of living in a Nordic house.It all started with my longing for a cosy cabin like the ones in stories and for the tranquillity of nature. After living in Sweden and New Zealand, I returned to Japan and, together with my husband Andy, took over a cabin that was due to be demolished just one month later. To ensure you enjoy the stay to the fullest, I set check-in and check-out time to both 12:00 Noon. So you can stay up for 24 hours with one night booking. YAMANOTE HOUSE is accessible from major Kansai stations with 37min from Kyoto Sta. or 65min from Osaka Sta. If you come by car from Kyoto it takes less than 1 hour. The area aournd the house is once small castle town. The house is located next to the Shrine, Hiyoshi-Jinja, where the Omizo Festival is held on May 3 and 4 every year.
