Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Kainuu

Nice place to spend a spring winter getaway! There was plenty of room, the apartment was very clean, and Markku responded quickly to messages. The apartment was also very well located at the end of a peaceful street and still within walking distance of the services. The playground was also right next door.

Our holiday in Lehtikerp was idyllic and we had a great time. It's like a hidden gem. The house, sauna building, and surrounding milieu were all unique, which brought a fabulous ambiance. Everything worked well, there was plenty of room for a larger group, and Kari was a great host. We can recommend Lehtikerppu to others in need of the Kainuu region as well. You won't go into this place with love!

Sanni’s place made us feel at home but a far from everyone at the same time. We wish we could’ve stayed longer! The place matched the description for sure but being there made us feel serene, safe and natural. It’s the place you’ve been longing for; being back home with someone you love, happy to see them be back, while being eager to lay in the couch after relaxing together in a nice place. The sauna, the lake, the cottage, it was unforgettable. Thanks for having us!

We really liked our stay at Ella’s place, it was clean, had all the necessities, Ella’s communication was quick and helpful. Location was perfect, easily reachable, the ski resort was a few minutes away, also walking paces, cross ski paces, shop, lake, all within few min ride/walk. The whole family enjoyed the vacation and we hope to come here again next year for skiing or in summer for fishing.

Great location, just renovated, so for example, the sauna and bathroom were on top of the last one. There was plenty of room for two adults. We searched for a peaceful ski resort for Christmas and New Year, and we got it.

It was cozy again in Vaala, thanks to a familiar and comfortable place to stay.

A great base for a couple of days of skiing. There were five adults and three children, and the space was great. Everything in the apartment exudes quality, and the details are thoughtfully thought out. The kitchen is very well-stocked, plenty of dishes and didn't have to be doing the dishes all the time. A separate sauna building is a nice addition to the space with stunning scenery. We would have loved to stay longer, great listing!

Beautiful and modern cottage quite close to Vuokatti and sports activities there. Soili was really helpful and friendly in her communication. We enjoyed our stay a lot!

11/10. Exceeded my expectations and was a transformative trip. Photos can't capture the beauty or peace of this place. I stayed at Juha and Heidi's lakehouse on Oulujärvi for nearly a month across two visits. The setting is incredibly peaceful - perfect for meditation and reflection. It felt quite magical. If that's not your thing, there are plenty of activities to keep you occupied. For one, this place turned me into a sauna enthusiast. The cabin is perfectly equipped with everything you could need, including a wonderful fireplace. Right next to the main cabin is a traditional Finnish kota. Being there in winter, I tried ice fishing (caught only tiny fish due to my lack of skill) and was lucky enough to witness the aurora borealis - literally breathtaking. Juha is exceptionally kind and a perfect host. I can't praise him enough. Went above and beyond. As other reviews mention, there's more than the photos suggest. Don't hesitate to book. I hope to be back myself :)

The house was very clean and beautifully and minimally decorated. We found everything we needed in the apartment. The beds were great for sleeping. Quiet and peaceful place. Close to a thunderstorm hiking trail and it was only 4km to the slopes and ski slopes of Vuokatti. Nothing negative to say.

We felt very comfortable. In a beautiful place. In the city still in the greenery and by the river. The outdoor area with the great view could be even more cozy. The grill was not enough for me (small and too little heat). Still a great stay.

We really enjoyed the time here! The location of the house is perfect, nicely quiet on a lake but still not far away to drive to supermarkets or do activities. The house is lovingly furnished and there is everything you need for your stay. Of course, we particularly appreciated the hot tub and the sauna. It was a wonderful stay and we would definitely come again!
