It is a beautiful place, full of warmth, with many special places to create memories with our loved ones. People are incredibly kind and friendly. There are many attractions and fun things to do very close by like a boat ride, jet skis, and amazing restaurants where you can taste local food. Beautiful experience and excellent hosts. We will be going back again and again. Such a beautiful and relaxing place to stay. Waves every night to put you to sleep. Local fisherman with plenty of fish to sell. The home was just awesome, open spaces and plenty of room for everyone to sleep and relax. So many places to visit in boat or kayak. If you wind surf, bring your equipment. Cells towers are very close so you can work remote like I did for 12 days. Tapon Creek has some of the best small waterfalls. Easy to boat, walk and explore. And locals always willing to help get you where you want to go. Such a family friendly place. Kids in the water all day long. Being from Florida, I expected it to be hot. But in reality, it is cooler and so much less humid than Florida. And the temperature drops a few degrees at night and pretty comfortable with a fan. 78F is my new normal temp. I hired local help to cook and clean each day. It was awesome. Look forward to going back.

The house is very clean and comfortable! It has everything you need, 100% recommended. It's very spacious and the best thing is that it has parking for many cars. Very safe.

I booked this apartment for my family who traveled to Izabal to visit relatives and were very satisfied with the place. It is close to the main points of Rio Dulce and easily accessible. Recommended.

The hosts are a very welcoming and lovely family. The food they cook is very delicious and they were very helpful with organizing the ferries. Additionally their hotel is surrounded by beautiful nature and the river is very scenic.

We were looking for something to spend several days relaxed and with things to do for my children (11 and 15 years old). This place was excellent. Since we arrived Don Mario was very helpful in welcoming us in the marina where we left parado el carro, it is a short 10 minute trip to the house. The house with its two air conditioned rooms, kitchen dining room and a terrace where we spend most of the time, the wind that there is makes it super nice to be outside. We threw a thousand times in the river, we use the pedal boat and we went to explore the surrounding area. Really no one wanted to come back on the last day. Maria was in constant communication with me and always attentive to any eventualities. We had Elvia's support in the house, Don Mario's daughter, during the week (paid separately and direct to her) and it was key so that we could be quieter, she is a very polite and helpful girl. It's definitely a place we hope to repeat soon...

Recommended! The house is in an excellent location for enjoying sweet river and livingston. It is a good option for those who want to relax at the river bank and is well equipped to cook, although there are restaurants nearby that you can go to.

This place is heaven on earth. If you're looking for quiet, simplicity, connection to nature and great hosts - this is the place for you! Julio is amazingly kind and nice, the house is new and feels very good, and the adventure of being in the middle of the river with only biat access is amazing. There's a small market you can walk to, but it has really basic stuff. We brought all the products with us and enjoyed cooking, except for once that we went with the kayak tothe restaurant near by which is really good. Truly recommended!!
