In front of our house, which is sandwiched between the Hida-Buri Highway that connects the former Toyama and Takayama, there are the Nissho-bu Mingei Kan and the Yoshima residence, which are important cultural properties that show the rich cultural assets of Japan, and this area is designated as a preservation district for traditional buildings. You can enjoy the old town and beautiful scenery while experiencing historic buildings. It is a 2-minute walk to Miyagawa Morning Market and a 5-minute walk to Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine, the site of the autumn Takayama Festival. The festival stall in this area is called Hōmeita, and it has a variety of decorations such as a palanquin and sculptures (1-minute walk to the stall). We have preserved the structure of the pre-war building and rebuilt the water system. Staying in an old house allows you to experience a different kind of life than your usual daily routine. Popular tourist spots such as Omicho Market, Ozaki Shrine (dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu), and Oyama Shrine (dedicated to Maeda Toshiie) are within walking distance. Opened in July, 2024. "La Fotografia Marrone" is a 9-minute walk from "Kanazawa Station" and a 6-minute walk from "Omicho Market", where there is a bus to Kanazawa's major tourist attractions. The building faces a quiet street lined with Kanazawa Machiya, and you can see a large temple in Kanazawa, Higashibetsuin. The building is made up of a traditional exterior and floor plan. In addition, in line with the inn’s theme of ‘photography’, we are displaying photos by the Japanese photographer Yasutaka Kojima (IG @yasutakakojima).What’s more, you can relax indoors while listening to a selection of ‘music’ chosen by Mr Kojima to accompany the photos. We have facilities such as a washing machine so that guests can have a relaxing stay, close to Omicho Market, where you can cook and stay for the medium to long term. Getting around for a day is one of the pleasures of traveling, but I hope you can enjoy a relaxing stay for a day.

HAKU is a Japanese Style Villa. You can enjoy your private time as in your home. “HAKU“ is one of the readings of the character “百” which means “hundred”. Medieval Haiku poet, Basho Matsuo likened eternal passage of time to "百代の過客", a permanent traveller. In his time, a hundred years was expressed as eternal.
