Beachfront holiday rental in Houghton County

We loved our stay in Cottage #3! It was cozy and having the lake as our front yard was just perfect. The location was great for our day trips and close enough to Houghton and Hancock for quick trips for food while still having the private and quiet atmosphere of a getaway cottage. Our dog loved it too! This was a perfect spot for our “baby moon”. We will definitely be back.

Our group had a wonderful stay here! It was a great way to disconnect from the bustle of daily life. The lake was so peaceful and we loved playing games by lantern light in the greateoom. Rebecca was super helpful with explaining the how-tos of off grid living and it was super easy to enjoy our stay. We will definitely be coming back again in the future!

A great place to stay and centrally located. Great place for a break... but close enough to all that the Keweenaw has to offer.

Beautiful view and very easy to find. About 20 minutes away from Houghton/Hancock: There was even a turkey there to greet us every morning. 😂 Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful location, quiet, and private. Close to canyon and powerhouse falls. About an hour away from agate and bond falls. Water pressure was great. Beds were comfortable and linens were clean. Was able to see the northern lights while we were up there (second sand beach). Plenty of deer to spot around the yard. Can’t wait to come back in the summer!

We stayed for a ski/birthday weekend and it was perfect. Sherry was great offering suggestions on dining and weekend happenings. Watching the deer in the morning was a highlight. The nearby cottages were close but still felt secluded. We hope to return!

This house was exactly what we were looking for when booking for my bachelorette trip. It was private, relaxing, and was surrounded by beautiful views. Unfortunately it was not warm enough for the pool during our stay, but the hot tube and sauna were amazing. The cliff at the water’s edge was even better than the pictures. Cheryl was always on top of responding whenever anything came up, or for any questions we had before and during the stay. She was an amazing host, and I would definitely stay here again when going to the UP.

From the moment we arrived, Cheryl was lovely! Her place is very nice, clean and had all of the amenities needed for a great stay. A private B&B, on the water, and just 20 minutes from Houghton, what more could you ask for? I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area!

Cheryl is fun to visit, kind, and informative. The continental breakfast, hot tub and sauna were highlights for us. There are many extras here a large family or group could keep entertained with (instruments, blue tooth speaker, karaoke machine, roku TV, snowshoes, sleds for sledding, pool, hot tub, sauna, nature trails). Parking a truck and trailer for snowmobiling is effortless. It is a nice base camp for snowmobiling groups that will be trailering to their spot.

La Rose is a hidden gem in the Keweenaw bay and I'm so glad to stumble upon it. The backyard has a perfect view of Lake Superior giving you panoramic views of sun and moon rises. Cheryl is very friendly and she cares about the local community. She's so knowledgeable and fun to talk to. I would definitely go back.

I’m not sure where to begin.. It was a beautiful stay and a memorable few days spent at the cottage. My kids and I even got to enjoy a magical show put on by the northern lights above the shining Gitche Gumee last night! We had everything we needed and appreciated all of the little touches and amenities. We loved the retro feel and style of the place as well as the location and privacy. We will definitely be back! Some girl friends and I had a wonderful stay here. Very beautiful place, scenery, and very peaceful. Close to Quincy’s for a place to eat, and had lots of kitchenware for cooking. Overall, we had all the essential amenities we needed and more. I recommend staying here!

The house was exactly as pictured. One of the few stays where I was able to cook breakfasts and dinners and had everything I needed. The main family room with the fireplace was cozy and relaxing. We typically chose the places we stay for the sauna and this one was one of the best. It heated up quickly and steamed well. The lake view was amazing with peak color and close to fun outdoorsy things we love when in the UP.

Our first time staying here after several years further north on UP shore and we can’t wait to go back! The place was really clean & quite comfortable. Layout of the lower level was perfect for the two of us. Great proximity to Houghton-Hancock & all the area has to offer. Great sunsets & access to the lake. Loved the outdoor kitchen. Overall quiet & so relaxing. Right off the Covered Road which was such a magical & enchanting drive/bike/hike/walk. Appreciated the recommendations provided & responsiveness of the hosts.

Beautiful historic lake front home with plenty of space for my family. Comfortable and filled with history as outlined in write up about the home's origins and previous owners. We enjoyed beautiful sunrises each morning of our springtime stay. Great communication from Paul making this a great experience!

What a great place to stay for a weekend in Houghton! The unit is spectacular. We will definitely stay again on our next visit.

Fantastic hosts and lovely area. We star gazed, had bonfires, fished, hiked, and more. Hosts were super responsive to anything we needed. I can’t recommend this place enough.
