"Tanoya" , more than a hundred years old, is a traditional Japanese style building. It has been used as a studio fo NISHIJIN 3 generations ago. We renovated it to be a Japanese Style Inn. It is located at the back of a narrow alley of Nishijin - a very silent and traditional area.

This inn was renovated but traditional features such as Japanese garden, tea rooms etc. remained. Modern facilities such as bathrooms, toilets and beds are provided. It is now a mixture of the past and the present.

The space
Byakko is a traditional Japanese-style room in this INN.
Japanese garden is spotted by the room and bathroom window.
Twin beds made by IWATA - Kyoto's traditional bed company, provide you a comfortable and healthy sleep.
Please enjoy its beauty even when you are inside the room.

Guest access
All common facilities are available. Bathroom is next to the courtyard.

Other things to note
Due to Machiya's structure, there are some fragile items like thin glaces. We kindly ask you to refrain from children under 10 years old.
Purposely, TV has not been set.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

I am working as a first-class architect. TANOYA is also designed and decorated myself.
I love to collect paintings, art objects, antique tableware, etc.
Lots of my collection is displayed in the inn and cafe.

Please make yourself at home at TANOYA. I'd love to support your journey.

I am an architect, "Taya" is designed and decorated by myself, my interest is collecting drawings, artwork, antique tableware, etc., and my collection is displayed throughout the museum and at the coffee bar.

Passengers will have the opportunity to experience the fun of using antique tableware during their stay, and you are welcome!

We are active as a first-class architect. This ryokan also designed and decorated it ourselves.
My hobby is collecting paintings, fine art, and antique dishes, and I have many exhibits in ryokans and cafes.
For cafes and meals, we serve them with Japanese antiques and overseas antique dishes.

I am willing to help to have a wonderful stay.
