Originally built as a silver miners hotel in 1800’s. It has been in the same family over 100 years. We take great pride in keeping the property historic and not renovated. Step back in time to aged cracked wallpaper in areas from the 1920’s. The floor creaks, the house is crooked, this is an experience, not modern. Most of the furniture is original antiques from the proprietors past. The bathroom is shared but easily as our guests are adventurists and leave at all different hours of the morning.

The space
Parking is convenient. Check in is easy. Stairs climb is required. Rooms are small, vintage and aging. The hype inside ranges from calm and quiet to busy flowing with energy. The SHARED bathroom is European style-toilet is separate from the bath sink. This is a building of shared spaces and full of life from children to pets and people from all walks of life.
You are welcome to join to company or hideaway in your own comfort.
It’s a building to experience. Many return to this place as it resembles something close to their hearts that they cherish.

Guest access
The property was built in 1884 as a HOTEL. There are 2 front doors, one in which is guest private entrance that is separate from the family residing on the first floor.
Smoking is permitted on the patio. Be mindful of guests who dislike smoking.
The bathroom can be very busy depending on the time of year. Examples are skiing, everyone is up together. Hiking everyone is on separate start times. Just be respectful of your time in the bathroom and consider usage during less busy parts of the day.

Other things to note
Hot breakfast has currently been suspended. There are still your homemade favorites quiches, muffins and cookies available. All pre-wrapped and ready to reheat. This ensures limited number of guests in the breakfast room at one time and still offers the goodies you love.
I’m working on opening a gift shop with wraps and sandwiches.

Neighbourhood highlights

Silver Plume is a historic town with a sleepy relaxed feel. Closest restaurants are in Georgetown. Georgetown railroad loop is available to enjoy summer to fall and some in December. There is weekend bar & coffee. A marijuana dispensary and a mechanic shop in town. Plenty of hiking trails nearby, including Greys & Torrey’s as well as Mt. Beirstadt. Loveland Skiing is 10 miles drive. A-Basin & Keystone are 20miles.

During your stay

Before COVID you were greeted at the door shown to your room and given a tour as well as a brief overview of the history of the property. Long conversations and friendly banter were very common among the halls here.
My current interactions are limited, as I’ve begun other projects and keep myself busy updating the hotel. I’ve got 4 boys so that’s also a full time job. If we never meet you too will enjoy your stay as countless others in past times.
