“Number 16 is a wonderful wee gem. Pauline & Chris have renovated the cottage to a very high standard - it’s really beautiful. My husband & I visited for 5 days to celebrate his 50th Birthday and we enjoyed every moment and would recommend it highly and we would definitely come back to The Cottage & the hospitality of Pauline & Chris. Huge thanks! Michael & Brenda”
Close to Historic Village Centre only a five minute walk to the Stunning Forest and Lake, and only a short walk to local award winning Restaurants, Pubs, Boutiques, Shops, Post Office, Bus Stop Royal Hillsborough Castle. This is a peaceful, friendly home filled with character. The architecture of Governors Gate complete with duck pond, adds to the tranquil neighbourhood. The house, patio and garden is beautifully decorated. Good for couples, solo adventurers, foodies and business travellers
“A great place to stay , it’s very clean , comfortable & very private on the third floor. You have a lovely big room and a sitting room . It’s exactly as pictured . Great host . This place was perfect for the week. It’s also only a walk from the lovely park and the “Owl & Pussycat” coffee shop. I loved it, I’d definitely stay here again and I would recommend it to anyone . Sandra was absolutely great and couldn’t have done enough .”
My place is close to parks, art and culture, restaurants and dining, and great views. You’ll love my place because of the neighbourhood, the light, the comfy bed, and the cosiness. It is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers.
“We had the loveliest time just 20 minutes drive from our home in Belfast. It felt like a proper mini break. Brigid’s house is in a beautiful stately spot by the river and is only 10 minutes walk into Hillsborough where we did a tour of the castle, drank Guinness in the Hillside pub, poked around the dinky shops and had dinner in Hara (it’s a lovely restaurant in the lonely planet guide.) Brigid made us feel very welcome in her beautiful home. (The best air Bnb we have stayed in yet) The bedroom is stunning with a chaise longue, a walk in wardrobe and individual bath robes. The bed was very comfortable, we slept like logs. The continental breakfast was lovely and hit the spot. We felt that our stay was really good value for money and I can not recommend a mini break at Brigid’s highly enough. We were sorry to have to go home and back to porridge!”
