Holiday rentals with lake access in Highland Council

Great place to stay, at high tide you feel like your right on the firth and at low tide there is a lot of area to walk. It's quite and peaceful, and was the perfect place for me and my family to relax whilst we explored Inverness, Loch Ness and the highlands

Sian's house is lovely. Very clean and comfortable with very good outdoor sitting area/garden. It's very convenient for the village and local sites. Walkable to Urquhart Castle. Co-op and Italian restaurant just around the corner. Lovely pizza at the Italians. Thanks for a lovely stay!

We loved the quiet rural setting on the loch with colours changing in the light all day long. The villages and towns in the area had some good restaurants and we found many places for long walks. The facilities at the house were adequate for cooking and leisure. The only downside, which did not affect us really, were some peculiarities that we've never before encountered in the many airBNBs we have rented in the past: several rooms, closets and cupboards were locked and off-limits; and many rather unnecessary "polite advice" signs posted. In our previous experience, the number of guests has had no effect on access.

Highly recommend lovely house with great view, all like new inside, was a great place to base ourselves for exploring the area. Tony was very responsive and all instructions very clear and friendly check in.

Rock Cottage was a great ‘study camp’ for my daughter in the run-up to her exams. The house was immaculate and very much a home from home. The beds were very comfortable. The highlight, though, is outdoors - the wild garden is enchanting and full of bird life - we loved sitting in the sun room watching the swallows outside, followed by the bats at dusk. It’s in a very peaceful location but only a short drive to Kenmore or Aberfeldy for shops and restaurants. We’d love to be back!

Just finished a three night stay here at the end of May. I would 100% look to stay here again if ever back in the area. The place is just so cozy with its king size soft bed, super comfy couch and oversized swivel chair, and windows everywhere to sit and watch the sheep meander up and down the pasture. Gives the right amount of privacy/seclusion but in a good location to get to Portree and scenic hikes.

First of all, thank you Fiona for having us in your place. You have been such a great host and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The place is lovely and comfortable. Home away from home. We love hearing the birds in the backyard and just relaxing.

Pristine and super comfortable hideaway in beautiful surroundings. The place is better than the photos portray. Very very comfortable bed and lovely & bright living space. Very private including a lovely little outdoor area to relax in the sunshine. The shed with freezer and dryer was very useful for storing bikes. Leanne & Darrin were very responsive and helpful. The location is superb for exploring right from the door or for going further afield. We loved it so much we’ve booked for next year. Such a restorative place to stay.

Although a little expensive, the views, and being in an Abbey was an amazing experience. We had plenty of room and the apartment had everything we needed including tea! The canal locks were a thrilling surprise to watch when going for coffee or ice cream. Loch Ness cruise was beautiful. Everything you could need from coffee to restaurants and gift shops to convenience store all walking distance but very quiet complex with a city link bus stop 5-6 minute walk to explore the highlands.

Ideal location for me. Good views of the river and the area felt very safe. Good communication from Rebecca. Although small the apartment did not feel cramped and there was plenty of floor space for stretching.

Sarah’s cozy, clean home was so comfortable and practical! The beds were so comfy! Our hostess was very responsive to any inquiries we gave her. Having the crib/ cot already set up for us was such a hospitable touch. We loved taking our morning coffee in the cozy window seat and soaking in the stunning views!

Had a lovely couple of nights at the Cairnfield flat. Very comfortable and a good shower. Ruarie was very helpful with advice on the area. We enjoyed a lovely walk and visited Amy’s place for coffee and Mrs Mack’s burger van!

Chris and Sarah’s place is easily one of the finest Airbnbs we’ve ever experienced. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered. The place has everything you needed and more! (Thank you for the Scottish Shortbread biscuits). The panoramic views are breathtaking, our only regret is not having more time to have a cup of tea at the front yard. Above all, Chris and Sarah’s warmth made us feel instantly at home. Their hospitality set a new standard for us, and we’ll be recommending their getaway to any friends traveling to this part of the world!

Perfect place for us in Ullapool - spacious, well located, clean and comfortable. Everything we needed (and more). Topher gave us very helpful recommendations and helped us plan our walks and drives over the time we were there. We had a great time. Much appreciated!

Joyce and Gus were wonderful hosts making us feel very welcome. The freshly baked bread waiting for us was absolutely amazing. The recommendations of thing's to do and places to visit was great and we would definitely return again.

Joyce’s studio was a stunning place to stay. It’s near enough to local amenities and the key things to do on the Isle of Skye, whilst being off-grid for a private and special place to stay. The scenery is absolutely wonderful and the location is very quiet and idyllic. The space has been designed very well and we immediately felt at home. Very clean, great kitchen with all the required amenities and a good sized bathroom with a great shower. The bed was comfortable and lounge area was perfectly placed to look out over the loch. We would absolutely stay here again if ever back on the Isle of Skye.

Out of all the places that we stayed while in Scotland, this was our favorite. It felt very homey and comfortable and super clean. We had a few visitors like chickens and a little lost sheep named Lucky Bucky. It was a beautiful home with all the amenities. The shower was very nice and hot and strong. The bed was comfortable in the bedding was luxurious. It wasn't but a ten minute drive to town to get groceries or go to a restaurant to eat. Location to the isle of skye was perfect. You will not be disappointed if you stay here.

We had a very lovely week - the perfect holiday, relaxing, but lots to see and do. The cottage worked very well for the three of us.

Ian and Linda were fantastic and very kind hosts, really made us feel very welcome and even put out some snacks and wine for us in the kitchen which was a great touch. The location of Plockton itself is stunning and peaceful and we had a great fish and chips at The Plockton Shores, a short walk away! Thank you again Ian and Linda!

This was one of the best airbnbs I have stayed in. It was well accommodated, spacious, peaceful, and just beautiful. We had a full house at this stay and never felt cramped. I loved that each room had its own full bathroom. The kitchen was beautiful and I wish I had it in my own home. We were in walking distance to a coffee shop, grocery store, gift shop and the claymore restaurant/shellfish shack. The shellfish shack was a highlight for us. If you can it's a must eat. The windows in the bedroom has mechanical blinds that blocked out all the light, which if you visit during the spring/summer and like to sleep in darkness it's a must. The views from the living room and bedrooms were gorgeous. We caught beautiful sunsets. I would definitely stay here again and again if I could. I look forward to visiting again one day.

John's place is just incredible. We spent 2 nights here and had a lovely stay. The kitchen is well stocked. The washer and dryer work well. The cottage has so many personal touches, definitely an A+ for comfort. The fresh flowers and champagne left for us just added to our delight with the place.
