    Coronavirus outbreak
The World Health Organization has declared the coronavirus outbreak a global health emergency. Impacted hosts and guests can find info on our Extenuating circumstances policy for coronavirus page.

What do the different home types mean?

Airbnb listings are categorised into the following home types:

    • Entire place: Guests have the whole place to themselves. This usually includes a bedroom, a bathroom and kitchen. Hosts should note in the description if they'll be on the property (ex: "Host occupies first floor of the home")
    • Private room: Guests have their own private room for sleeping. Other areas could be shared.
    • Shared room: Guests sleep in a bedroom or a common area that could be shared with others.

Pick the choice that best describes your place so guests know what to expect. As a host, you're responsible for accurately describing your listing, by both selecting the appropriate category and providing further details of the property in the description.
