Beachfront holiday rental in Hastings Highlands

We just got back from a lovely stay at the cottage on Spectacle Lake, and even though the weather wasn’t on our side, we truly had a great time. The rain kept us mostly indoors, but the cozy fireplace turned out to be a blessing we spent our time just relaxing, listening to the rain, and soaking in the peaceful vibe. The cottage itself is tucked away in such a private, serene spot. Waking up to the sound of birds and looking out over the calm water from every window was incredibly calming. Everything was so clean and well cared for. Waking up to birdsong and calm water views from every window was such a treat. I was thrilled to finally spot a few beaver lodges in the Madawaska Valley — a small dream come true! The cottage was clean, the docks looked great, and having fresh drinking water available was such a thoughtful and sustainable touch. We didn’t get the clear skies we hoped for to stargaze, but that just gives us a reason to come back and we definitely will.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 We had the most perfect weekend getaway here! The house was exactly as described - clean, cozy, and beautifully styled with a relaxed boho vibe. The location is just magical, right by the lake with private access, kayaks ready to go, Hot tub and the most peaceful views.

Easy no contact needed entry. The host was quick to respond to any questions. Good use was made of the space so you had everything you needed but could still move around. The kitchen is very well stocked with extras as well as necessities for cooking. A top notch shower head that wasn't to low (I'm 6 feet tall), and towels provided. Outside had a fire pit and firewood provided.

Jackie’s cottage is an amazing and authentic way to enjoy the Canadian countryside. We felt very at home. Jackie was super responsive in case we had any questions. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home. Would recommend to all.

My partner and our dog spent a long weekend at Peter's cabin in the woods in mid-June, and it was perfect! Very private but only a 10 minute drive into Bancroft which had everything we could possibly have needed. Beautiful space (indoor and out) with everything we could have possibly needed. It's a perfect location for a weekend getaway! There was a booklet with clear instruction on the wood-burning fire, generator and battery, and the water situation, as well as a map of the property. We tried getting to 'beach 2' but there wasn't a clear path and couldn't find it, but the main beach was a 5 minute walk away and was beautiful, Completely private, sandy, and with clear water that was great to swim/float around in. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet weekend getaway, and will almost definitely come back. Just make sure you keep the bug spray nearby!

a really nice stay with Nat. the accommodations were perfect, nice and clean, everything you need is there in the accommodation. love the area, right by lake wilbermere great for swimming and fishing. quiet in the park at night which was really peaceful. accommodations are close to wilberforce. Definitely worth the stay. Will definitely be back next time we're back in my hometown.

We loved our stay at Summer Island! I chose this location because it was a “private island” and we wanted it to be a vacation for our city dog too. She loved being able to wander around and we had no worries. The cottage is so cute and was stocked with all we needed. The beds are really comfortable and the lack of wifi was a bonus to us. Getting to the island was easy peasy and we got great instructions on how to find / access everything. If you need a city respite, this place is magic!

We had great stay with Igor everything was as described he super friendly and responsive. The park is clean and everyone is really friendly. I would definitely recommend this place and hopefully we will return in the near future.

Had a wonderful weekend at the lodge, can’t wait to go back! Cindy thought of every little thing, all the extra little details were perfect and so thoughtful.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time in Tweed at Doug's beautiful house. Everything is really clean, and there are many things to do to enjoy. We were able to use their canoe and go fishing, and Doug had prepared a fire pit for us to roast marshmallows at dark. I would recommend to anyone how wants a nice stay out of the city, or while traveling through the area. Thank you!

The trailer had everything we needed for a family vacation. The part of the trailer with the kids bunks was very spacious with a play area and there were toys and games for the kids to play with. The pool at the campground had two lifeguards at all times, which I was very happy with. The campground also had a small Beach with a lot of communal toys to share. Racheal was easy to get in touch with and responded very quickly. We really appreciated that she let us know ahead of time that there was an event at the campground for the kids on the day that we were arriving so that we could be prepared and enjoy it. We did a day trip to the Warsaw caves which I would definitely recommend!

Mike and Cindy were great hosts! They are very friendly, and good people. We loved the themed cabins. Everything in our cabin is picked for the “yellow canoe” theme. I love these types of thoughtful touches. They offered great suggestions for our activities. There are a lot of things to do in the area including complimentary kayaks, canoes, bicycles, firewood, etc. We enjoyed walking by their farms and interacting with their chickens. Their family welcomed us with open hearts. We will go back!

Footprints is a hidden gem in the Kawarthas, a little paradise! lots of things to do in the resort, lots of space and seating areas. Swimming in the beautiful lake was perfect! We were very fortunate to have the entire place for ourselves for almost two days, when guests arrived for the weekend we found that everyone knows how to be respectful of your space. It was nice to share stories by the fire or by the hot tub with friendly people. We would love to go back!

We had such a good time! The pictures didn’t do the place justice, we were pleasantly surprised when we got to the cottage.

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful cottage to celebrate our anniversary. We live about an hour and a half drive from this place and it was very easy to find. Although our stay was short, it was so special. The beach is shared with other cottages but it was not being used by others during our stay which was nice. There’s a few fire pits for use too on the beach with wood provided by the host which was so lovely. We didn’t swim bc it was too cold but there were also a ton of water toys to use such as kayaks and paddle boards. The cottage itself is completely private and so so so charming. The place was so clean and had a ton of amenities you really don’t have to bring anything other than your own food. My husband and I agreed we must return in the future!!!

Great location… we had a chance to view the northern lights and the milky way. The place even offered a canoe, paddle boat and kayaks. Plenty of firewood was available as well. We had the perfect long weekend getaway.

My sister and I spent the weekend here and could not have had a better time! The lake was so beautiful and relaxing and the cabin was the perfect size. Angela is a top notch host and anyone would be lucky to stay here!

Chantyle's cottage was a great find for our family. While it was basic and nothing fancy but that is just what our family loves. We basically only need a spot to sleep and cook, other then that we are outside enjoying the nature we are surrounded by, and this spot was perfect The beach was perfect for swimming, crystal clear, and shallow so the kids could walk out for quite some distance. On top of the beautiful area and comfortable rustic cabin we were greeted by a very friendly, accommodating, and very helpful campground manager Phil and his wife Tanya. Helped us with things we needed right away and gave us suggestions on places to check out that our kids ended up loving....overall amazing experience thanks for having our family stay it was a great location and great place. friendly seasonal campers as well. our family will definitely be back ?

Wendy was easy to talk to and responsive. She answered all our questions. Place was clean and location was good. We booked at the wrong time and missed the fall colours, but the place was beautiful. Had to check out early and missed the time of the garbages so we had to take our garbages for our last day home, but other than that, everything was perfect.

I had an amazing stay, the place looks even better in person than it does in the photos! The lake is absolutely beautiful and made for such a peaceful and relaxing getaway. The host was incredibly thoughtful and provided everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a scenic, stress-free escape.

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Nice and clean place, equipped with everything you may need. Open concept is very comfortable with little kids. Zara is a great host, very responsive and caring. We would recommend this cottage and will definitely come back.

The cottage was absolutely beautiful! Lots of private space and gorgeous views. The water was nice and Sandy, not weedy or rocky - perfect. Kim always responded super quickly and made all the instructions super clear. We were celebrating a birthday and they left some bday cupcakes and a sweet note along with it - lovely touch. Would recommend 10/10

The place was absolutely breathtaking, from the stunning views to the beautifully designed rooms, everything exceeded our expectations. It was spotless, tasteful and cozy. The home was fully equipped with everything we could possibly need, making our stay super comfortable. What truly made this experience stand out was the host’s generosity and hospitality. Abigail went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home. Communication was effortless with her, fast, friendly, and always helpful. We genuinely didn’t feel like we were missing a single thing. Entertainment options and the place were great, but honestly, the highlight of the entire stay was the host herself. Hands down, the best host we’ve ever had on Airbnb. We’re already looking forward to coming back! Highly recommend.
