Beautiful area

This home is in a scenic location.
The Ecru House is a place ruled by the tides, only accessible by boat. It has a wonderful eclectic yet French cottage feel. It's like stepping into the heart of a love story. When I'm not listening to the magpies singing over the bay or watching fish jump from the water, I'm enjoying the soft crackles of vinyl. The nights are every bit as magical as the days. The sun sets over the mountains in bold orange. Then the stars and moon create a perfect reflection on the water. You must come and see.

The space
Just an hour from Sydney, tucked beside the quiet waters of Cogra Bay, The Ecru House is a romantic off-grid, waters-edge retreat designed for slow living. Wake to birdsong in the light-filled yet moody queen bedroom upstairs, or open the doors of the garden suite below to river views and your own private deck. Cook in the charming vintage kitchen, unwind by the pot-belly fireplace, play cards on the deck, or simply enjoy the sounds of nature while sitting in the love seat as the sun sets. Spend days kayaking or fishing from the jetty, discovering a hidden beach at low tide, picnicking on the upper terrace with sweeping Hawkesbury River views, or preparing the pizza oven for a memorable evening meal. The Ecru House is the ideal space to relax, make new memories, and escape the expected.

The Ecru House is only accessible by boat and at high tide. As the tides shift daily, check-in and check-out times will vary for each stay. We recommend using the water taxi but will provide more detailed information and access options following booking confirmation.

Guest access
For the duration of your stay you will have access to the entire property, including the use of the kayaks in the boat shed, and the terraces behind the house where you can relax and soak in the view. A small housekeeping space will remain locked.

Other things to note
Pack your food and beverages with you.
You will need to pack everything you need for your stay, food and beverages. There are no shops in the Bay. Essentials and cooking essentials are provided. Filtered drinking water is provided in the kitchen.

The wood-fired pizza oven.
Available to guests outside of the Total Fire Ban season (October to April) and by prior arrangement. A small fee applies for wood and cleaning, and some experience with wood-fired cooking is recommended.

The Ecru House runs on tank collected rainwater.
We invite guests to enjoy the experience of living lightly and off-grid, and be mindful of water usage, including taking shorter showers.

A time for just the adults.
While we love the children and pets in our lives, The Ecru House is designed as a peaceful escape for adults, so we ask that guests enjoy their stay without children or pets.

Take everything your brought into the Bay out of the Bay.
There is no garbage Council collection in Cogra Bay.
