World-weary traveller, this is your homecoming. Our renovated cottage offers two intimate studios - Morning Bird and Heartland - each with a private entrance, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. Heartland is a spacious cook's dream (and accessible), Morning Bird invites contemplation. Side-by-side sanctuaries for togetherness with space to breathe. Set between orchards and forest, find french doors opening to gardens, claw-foot tubs under stars, where birdsong beckons delight.
The space
Between forest and orchards 6km from Manjimup, Stellar Violets Cottage is the light-filled, soulful heart of this place. When booked as the whole cottage, Heartland and Morning Bird function as two self-contained wings connected by two sets of reclaimed jarrah doors.
Open the connecting doors for shared meals and open flow, or close them for quiet, independent retreats within your group.
Outside, established gardens surround the cottage, featuring twin outdoor claw-foot bathtubs in the garden to the west of Heartland (go down the ramp, then straight, they're just hidden from view) and a third single tub on the Morning Bird deck. We recommend bringing bathers, as plant-life and privacy screening around the bathtubs is still establishing.
Guest access
When booking the whole cottage, you have exclusive access to both Heartland and Morning Bird Studios. The studios are connected by double sets of reclaimed jarrah doors, spaced for privacy. You can open the connecting doors to link the spaces or keep them closed for separate areas within your group.
Heartland Studio provides the main accessible entry to the cottage, featuring a ramped entrance and double doors. Morning Bird Studio switches are positioned at ambulant height, though external access directly into Morning Bird is via steps.
You can use both studio wings, the garden areas immediately around the cottage, twin clawfoot bathtubs in the garden, and a third, single tub on the Morning Bird deck. Please bring bathers/swimsuit for the tubs, as they're outdoors and not 100% private (though the location is generally quiet).
Guest laundry facilities are located in a nearby building. Our historic rail carriages glimpsed through the garden may become available a little down the track through select bookable experiences & special events. For now, we're still in development, with enquiries welcome through our website.

Stellar Violets sits between forest and orchards, 6km from Manjimup town centre. The gardens are established around the cottage, while areas beyond are open fields with new plantings underway. Your stay directly supports this charitable land restoration and regeneration project.
You'll encounter a rich variety of birds in the gardens, including wrens, robins, finches, honeyeaters, silvereyes, magpies, whistling kites, and djitty-djitty.
Please note that guest access is restricted to the cottage and its immediate gardens; surrounding areas feature active regeneration work and historic train carriages in varied stages of transformation that are not yet open to the public.
Layout, Accessibility & Privacy
The cottage comprises two self-contained wings: Heartland Studio (fully accessible) and Morning Bird Studio, connected by two sets of reclaimed jarrah doors. It’s perfect for groups wanting togetherness with space to breathe.
Bedroom windows and our ensuite accessible bathroom face toward our restored heritage trolleybus located nearby on the property. The main bedroom features heavy blockout velvet curtains, and the Heartland ensuite features a linen handcrafted and painted, full blockout shower-toilet curtain made by artist Bianca Vallentine custom for the space (representing Yeagarup Dunes). Privacy sheer curtains are fitted across other windows to keep the spaces feeling soft and light while maintaining your privacy (note that these are privacy sheers rather than full blackout blinds).
Mindfulness & Music
To protect the peaceful sanctuary of the land and allow everyone to immerse in the natural birdsong, we intentionally do not provide speakers in the Cottage. As guests booking the whole Cottage, you are welcome to bring and use your own portable bluetooth speakers. We simply ask that music remains indoors and at a respectful volume so everyone, including nearby guests at the bus, can enjoy the quiet countryside and local birdsong.

Please note, Stellar Violets Cottage is not suitable for children or pets due to the delicate nature of its furnishings and the hazards of the broader site development.

We stock a basic pantry that includes ground coffee beans, milk, black and herbal teas, salt, pepper, and olive oil, with a coffee plunger provided.
