The space
Welcome to Bridle & Bay Middleton, a peaceful and private property designed as a boutique horse-stay accommodation - but equally perfect for families, friends, and anyone wanting a relaxed country to escape close to the coast.
Our cosy house is designed for guests to relax, unwind and enjoy a peaceful stay. The open-plan kitchen, living and dining area is bright and welcoming, with lovely garden views from every window. It’s a comfortable spot to enjoy a morning coffee, read, or settle in for a quiet evening.
The lounge looks out to the cottage garden, where blue wrens often dart between the plants. The front lawn is fully fenced and offers a safe, open space for children to play or for guests to enjoy the sunshine.
A very large undercover entertaining area wraps around the side and rear of the home. It is fully enclosed, with a setting that makes it perfect for long lunches, BBQ dinners or relaxed evenings in any weather.
The master bedroom features a queen bed, private ensuite and a generous walk-in wardrobe.
The second bedroom also has a queen bed and suits couples or friends.
The third bedroom offers two king single beds, ideal for children or additional guests.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a double-door fridge, cooktop and oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, dishwasher and a Nespresso machine with pods.
A Weber BBQ sits under the entertaining area for easy outdoor cooking.
A combined laundry and mud room includes a washer, drying rack and all the essentials needed during your stay.
For guests travelling with horses, secure paddocks with shelters, shade and day yards are available. Bridle & Bay was created as a unique horse stay, inspired by the rare opportunity to enjoy coastal riding along pristine Goolwa Beach just 8km away – a privilege horse owners seldom find.
The gate entry and driveway is wide and easily accessible for 4WDs and horse floats, and the property includes a double garage for secure parking.
At certain times of the year, guests are welcome to pick fresh fruit from the raised vegetable beds and orchard - a simple pleasure that adds to the charm of country living.
Just 2km from both Middleton Main Street and Middleton Beach. Middleton Beach offers great surfing conditions for all skill levels. Or if you’re visiting in winter, rug up and head to the coast to spot Southern Right Whales basking in the shallows of Middleton’s protected marine park.

Guest access
The house sits on our family property, and you will have exclusive use of the house during your stay. You’re welcome to wander and enjoy parts of the acreage, but we kindly ask that guests respect the privacy of the main residence.
The owners live approximately 100 metres behind the cottage, through the vegetable garden and orchard, but remain completely out of view to ensure your stay feels private and peaceful.
Their are horses on the property, so we ask that guests maintain a respectful distance from all horses unless otherwise advised.
For your safety, certain areas - including sheds and clearly marked zones - are out of bounds, and we ask that all signage is followed.
Other things to note
Float Tank Experience
A float tank is located in a private room off the lounge and is included in the price of your stay. It is available for any adult staying at the property, with guest instructions provided upon arrival.
Floatation therapy involves lying weightlessly in a dense saltwater tank, where you can float in silence or with gentle ambient music. It is known for creating a calm, sensory-reduced environment that allows the body and mind to deeply unwind, supporting deep relaxation, reduced stress and anxiety, improved sleep and pain relief.

Horse Accommodation $40 per night, per horse
The horse ("pet fee per night") fee includes private paddock, paddock maintenance and 2 biscuits of meadow hay. And additional feed can be arranged during your stay.
Please note, we are currently not able to accommodate dogs and the nightly pet fee applies per horse only.
