Black & Bright is a 2 bedroom semi-detached home in the Victorian High Country. With a modern eclectic take on early Australian pioneers, gold diggers, and huntsmen, it offers a unique and stylish getaway, ideally for two couples in the gorgeous town of Bright. Centrally located in the heart of the Alpine region it's a stone's throw from the Ovens River at the end of the lane.

The space
PLEASE NOTE: When we have bookings for two people, only the master bedroom will be accessible unless agreed with us otherwise. Opening up the extra bedroom and bathroom for two people will incur an additional fee.

Our space is a black corrugated steel and brick house in Bright, with a cozy interior, featuring a soaring timber-lined wall supporting a peaked ceiling. It offers a gorgeous fireplace for those cold wintery alpine days. Full of collectibles and curated interiors, she’s a warm contemporary space looking out onto the Great Alpine Road in all its seasonal glory. In the warmer months, we have the most perfect lagoon to swim & raft in just at the end of our lane, along with access to the historical gold mining Canyon Walk.

Both of our beds are fitted with luxury pure french linen and 5-star hotel quality super comfy mattress toppers. Our Master Bedroom is a part of the new extension that has 6 metre high ceilings, whilst our Queen Bed is part of the original house with no less comfort but with standard height ceiling.

Guest access
You will be given your own unique smart lock code for the duration of your stay for the front door. You'll have access to the whole property. It's a gated property which has plenty of parking for two couples.

Other things to note
- Black & Bright has been set up as an ideal getaway for 1 - 2 couples. Due to the delicate furnishings and exposed fireplace, it's not ideal for young children. However we are more than happy to cater to older children & teens!

- When we have bookings for two people, only the master bedroom will be accessible, unless agreed otherwise beforehand.

- As per Airbnb policy, bringing more guests than specified in the booking is not allowed. If additional guests are accommodated you will be charged for the additional guests at the standard nightly rate.

- As much as we love animals, we don’t allow pets.

- We stock a basic pantry for your needs which includes: ground coffee beans, hot chocolate, black tea, salt & pepper, olive oil and vinegar. We have well-stocked supermarkets very close by.

- Amenities in our kitchen include: a 4 plate ceramic electric stove top, an oven, a microwave, a fridge & freezer, a kettle and a toaster. We have a Chemex pour-over coffee maker and an electric milk frother for the hot chocolate months!

- We ask that you refrain from Tanning Products & Body Oils on our Linen. Soiling of linen that is irreparable will incur replacement charges accordingly.

- The bathrooms only have showers.

- We have an enhanced cleaning routine due to the coronavirus, and we're taking extra care to disinfect frequently touched surfaces between reservations.

Neighbourhood highlights

Our home is located on a lane with few houses. It’s a fairly quiet location with cows & ducks down the lane, although in summer months it’s a hive of activity in general around most of the area. Our little lane does attract walkers to and from the river and to the Canyon Walk. Access to the Ovens river and also the Great Alpine road is right on the door step making it easy to walk into Bright town centre via the river or the road. Just off the Great Alpine road during peak times you will hear some passing traffic.
