Abercorn is an elegant, architect-designed country house set on a lovely farm, surrounded by Mudgee's famous vineyards and only 7 minutes from Mudgee CBD. Spacious, stylish, with light-filled interiors and views from every window of the farm, vineyards and countryside. Personal recommendations for Mudgee provided after you book, and a complimentary bottle of beautiful local wine on arrival.

The space
Our huge living area has the cosiest lounges to sink into, a 3 metre handmade table fit for a feast, and a modern, roomy kitchen. We have a French wood-burning heater and reverse cycle air-conditioning.

We have 4 peaceful bedrooms which sleep 8 people in incredibly comfortable beds.

We have 4 beautiful bathrooms - no queuing! - one of which includes a washing machine. One of the bathrooms is an ensuite for the master bedroom, the other three are shared bathrooms for all guests.

There is an outdoor terrace with comfortable outdoor furniture and a large gas barbecue. It's the perfect place for a morning coffee in the sun or evening drinks.

Our organic vegetable garden of seasonal herbs, salad leaves and vegetables is available for you to use when cooking at Abercorn.

In winter (depending on RFS fire advice) we have an outdoor fire pit where you can enjoy the stars and toast marshmallows.

Guest access
Guests will be able to access the whole house, apart from 2 storerooms, and the garden.

Other things to note
The house has an internal staircase leading to the downstairs room and 4th bathroom and there is no toddler gate.
There are 2 dams on the farm and children MUST be supervised near them at all times.

I'm a retired rare books librarian and bookseller and I love reading (you'll find lots of books in Abercorn), speaking French, buying old furniture at auctions, cooking, chocolate Labradors, and ginger cats. Yes, we have one of each, plus two wonderful children. My husband, Matthew, built the house at Abercorn, with the help of some truly outstanding tradesmen and friends. It stands on the footprint of the former cellar door of Abercorn Wine.
