The space
We kindly ask for you to bring your own sheets, pillowcases, and towels, as we do not provide linen in non-snow season period (Spring, Summer, and Autumn months) - we will provide doonas, pillows, and blankets! Please bring suitable footwear for indoors such as indoor shoes, slippers, or socks.

Guest access
All spaces within the lodge except for the winter managers room, the members storeroom, and the work room are accessible to guests. Please do not enter the winter managers room, the members storeroom, or the work room during your stay, thanks!

Other things to note
Only a short walk from the lodge is the Mt Higginbotham Summit picnic shelter, which has an extraordinary view of the mountains, and a table to set up a picnic.

There are plenty of hiking tracks, including Edelweiss walking track which is a 1.2km track. Between December and February, many of the native wildflowers are in bloom, which you would get the opportunity to see while outdoors. There is also the ‘7 peak run’ or ‘ride’ from October to April. For older children and adults, bike riding is also a common activity for those who are into road cycling. For younger kids, the Davenport Playground and pump track are also a great hit.

There are also a guided walking experiences offered by Alpine Nature Experience called the “Where there is a Grill, there is a way!” which includes a walk with breathtaking views followed by a gourmet BBQ lunch featuring local produce overlooking the valley.

The General pub is also only a 7-minute walk from the lodge, which is a perfect place to go if you don’t feel like cooking dinner. They also have a pool table which is popular among visitors.
