Very welcoming hosts. Their son Kladji, not present, speaks French and informed us perfectly to prepare for our arrival. Violetta offered us coffee every morning and Miro raki. Accommodation with 2 beds in the living room and 2 in the bedroom (only air-conditioned but it was enough to diffuse fresh air), bathroom and equipped kitchen. Mosquito nets and shutters. Beautifully flowered house with a beautiful lawn amid the centuries-old olive trees of Borsh, 700 m from the beach (15 min walk) and the village (and 1 hour from the citadel). Very quiet, just the sound of the bells of the herds in the maquis! With a nice dog Nino (who followed me in the bush when I went to the village: a neighbor called Violetta to have her husband come and get him!) and 1 cat. We had dinner the night before in Borsh's beautiful restaurant on landscaped waterfalls. Ideally located near the most beautiful beaches and villages of the Riviera (Qeparo, Pilur, Himarë...).

Incredibly beautiful place! Very hospitable host and family. You can walk to beach and into town (easy walk if you are active, if mobility issues it would be best to drive), we enjoyed the walk! Gorgeous and would love to visit again!

Nikollaq was a very responsive and helpful host. The house was superbly located, near the castle and within easy walking distance of a host of restaurants and bars. Highly recommend.

Great location with fantastic views but would recommend a car since up a hill. Also, there’s quite a few stairs to get to the room so just something to note if you have mobility issues. Room has air conditioning and comfortable bed and shower. Host is responsive and helpful with great recommendations. Only issue was WiFi since I work remotely and the speeds were slow at 1.6 mbps download and 5.5mbps upload. Also the WiFi only worked on the patio, not in the rooms so I used my hotspot instead. Overall would stay again for those incredible views but maybe not if I had to work from the Airbnb.

A perfect place - especialy for traditional, rural style lovers. Quiet and nice. The beds are very clean and comfortable. The way to the beach is rather difficult to walk. Theodora is very kind and helpful. When she is not around, her neighbours Felleza and Mili care for the place and are willing to help.

The place was great. We had a house, a small backyard. Everything was clean and cozy. The landlord took perfect care of us, he brought us vegetables from the garden, figs, eggs, langoš...top. I was missing some cooking utensils in the kitchen, like a spoon, a ladle, but we managed. Good location, who wants to have peace and countryside and it's not far to Saranda, great location for trips.

Beautiful location and view. Very friendly and Valentina is a great cook if you fancy a home cooked meal for cheap.

Christina's place was a perfect choice for our holiday in Himare. It is comfortably located between a couple of different beaches and restaurant/shop areas, we had a choice to do lots of exploring. It is nicely decorated and has an amazing spacious balcony either to simply relax on private sunbeds or watch the sunsets. It had all the essentials to make our stay convenient (I think even more facilities than originally listed). Yes it is on a hill but once know how to park (once up, drive to the left instead of the right, then reverse), we had no problems after. Communication was mainly with Aris, Christina's son who has kindly shown us the place and we received a welcome gift. Aris gave us local recommendations and was very responsive over the Airbnb app. We felt there is always support available if we ever need. I recommend this place 100%

A Perfect Nature Escape with Private Pool I recently had the pleasure of staying at this villa, and it was an absolute dream! Tucked away in nature, this property is a hidden gem for anyone seeking tranquility, comfort, and a stunning natural setting. The villa itself is spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated with a modern yet cozy touch. The large windows offer breathtaking views of the surrounding greenery, and the open-plan layout makes it feel light and airy. Every room feels connected to nature, and you really get the sense of being in a secluded paradise. The private pool is the highlight! Perfectly maintained and surrounded by trees, it’s the ideal spot for a refreshing swim or just lounging by the water. We spent hours there, soaking in the peaceful environment. There’s also a lovely outdoor seating area where we enjoyed meals, with the sounds of nature all around.

This is a great option if you’re wanting more than a hostel but not quite a full house or spa rental. The location is amazing and very cute and the hosts are helpful and quite responsive. It’s definitely steal for the price and Himare is a perfect town to visit. Highly recommend this stay :)

The house is located in the mountain village of Upper Qeparo, which can be reached by car via a bumpy, winding road. The last approx. 100 m must be covered on a steep stone path on foot - you should be reasonably fit for that. The location of the property has a great view of the sea all the way to Corfu. The house is fully furnished and well equipped. Especially nice is the outdoor area with 2 terraces and a small pool. Eraldi is a perfect host who was always easily accessible and gave us many tips for our stay. In the village, there are 2 nice, rustic places, otherwise it is very quiet. We really enjoyed our stay in Upper Qeparo.

Excellent host, very responsive. Allowed us to use the facilities eg well stocked kitchen with sharp knives and lots of utensils and well stocking washing machine. Beautiful setting with lots of room. Danae also picked us lemons, mint and cucumbers and tomatoes from the vegetable garden. Very happy with our stay!

The place is really nice with a magical view, its a bit hard to go there, but a very descriptive video is available to get there. I totally recommend :)

Klejdi is a very friendly and welcoming host. We slept in the house for one night. It is a nice big house with all the facilities. The old town centre is a 10-minute walk away, without too much elevation. In short, a perfect house for a family and at a good price.

Right above the Gjirokaster Bazaar and restaurants. Beautiful historic town to find tranquility. Place was amazing with a kitchen to cook and plenty of space to feel right at home.

Don't think about it. Just book this place now! This was exactly the kind of place I was looking for. I was staying in Sarande at a hotel prior to booking this place. The hotel was great but I wanted something closer to the REAL Albania. I found it here. I was actually surprised that I found this place on Airbnb. It was old school Airbnb...where someone opens up their home to you and you are able to experience the hospitality of the host or hostess. It's not your typical Airbnb place either. This is a typical family farm that is found in so many places in eastern Europe. It is not the kind of farm you would find in Canada or the US that are hundred of acres in size. The home is situated on about 0.5 acres or 0.2 hectares of land surrounded by the typical rock walls you find surrounding many homes in Albania. What kind of animals do you find here? Chickens, sheep, goats, rabbits and even ducks. Yes, there is a garden for vegetables and grape vines throughout the property. Please don't think this a petting zoo farm... this is a working family farm that provides food for the family and you if you stay here. It is a modest home that has been in the family for many years, it is on a plot of land that has provided the food and shelter for the family for countless generations. I have nothing but enormous respect for the hostess and her family. It was the kind of home that my parents grew up in Ukraine. This is what attracted me to this place. These people are salt of the earth. Humble, happy and proud. Respect. I could write a short book about my stay here. To sum up, it was wonderful. I have stayed at my fair share of Airbnb places, but this is my most favorite place ever. I did not want to leave and I do plan to return and stay much longer than the ~10 days I was there. What are the highlights of my visit? 1. The hostess Alexandra and her dear mother. Real people. 2. Coffee with fresh goat milk every morning. Yes, it's that good. 3. The sunrise in the valley. Breathtaking. 4. The amazing hikes up the mountain and in through the valley. There are so many ruins and hidden cool places to discover. 5. Taking the goats and sheep grazing in the morning. Yes I did that!!! 6. I'm not going to give it all away...book this place and I'll let you discover all the wonderful things here on your own. Alexandra and her mother don't speak English. This was not a problem at all. I downloaded the microsoft translator to my phone. It allows two people to communicate back and forth at the push of a button. It made communicating with the hostess very easy. I had many wonderful conversations with Alexandra and her dear mother many times using this translator. So you will be just fine. Look... this is a farm. It smells like a farm where the animals live and it has bugs...get over it. If you are looking for Disney World or the Ritz Carlton...look somewhere else. This place is perfect the way it is and I will be returning in the near future. The apartment is clean and well equipped. The internet works great. My cell phone worked just fine. It has a great stove for cooking and a washing machine to wash your clothes. It has a TV, but why would you watch TV when you are in such a wonderful environment to explore? There are places to buy groceries to cook food...OR...you can arrange with Alexandra to prepare meals for you each day. That is what I did. Breakfast and dinner. So I didn't have to cook or buy anything extra to survive. It's up to you. I chose to eat home cooked food from the farm...how can you beat that??? There is so much more to say...but... Don't think about it. Just book this place now!
