KULLA DULA is a very traditional and unique house built in the end of 18th century, a typical Albanian stone house with very thick stone walls. The house has a long and rich history and has survived many wars of the past. KULLA DULA guesthouse has also been used as a school during different wars and has historically sheltered many refugees in the past. Another important characteristic of this house is the beautiful stone arched entrance door (qemer) in its original condition.
“What a unique, special historic home! And a wonderful family of hosts. The accommodations are clean, comfortable, and attractive, and the hosts are kind, friendly, and informative. The architectural details, especially in the bedroom I stayed in, were gorgeous. Definitely recommended, particularly for architecture and/or history buffs. Be sure to double-check the directions that Google Maps provides to find the house (in my case from the bus station). The step-by-step walking directions it gave me were incorrect and didn't even match the map itself -- which I failed to notice -- so I had a hard time finding the house.”
The house has three floors(third floor used for sleep) with 3 bedrooms, large social areas in the garden with pool and barbecue area. The area around the house is quiet and comfortable.
“As described, this is a apartment on the top floor of a house. It has 3 good-sized bedrooms, a pleasant sitting area, and a half-bath. Lots of stairs, but good railings—my 77-year old mother with mobility issues was able to make the climb, but it’s certainly easier if you’re not carting a lot of large or heavy luggage. We had our own keys and the stairwell is outside of the home’s main living areas so we didn’t feel we were intrusive. We had some trouble finding it by address (no street numbers) but Shpend sent us GPS coordinates and was there to guide us in by phone even though we arrived quite late. The main dining/shopping area in that part of town is about a 5 minute walk, and bars and restaurants are lively and open late, sometimes with live music. It’s also easy to Uber around to other parts of own for a change of scenery. We enjoyed our stay, and the thoughtful touches like coffee and pastries in the garden or upstairs in the evening. Delightful hosts!!”
Garden Guesthouse is located in the center of the city. Garden Guesthouse is centrally located but very quiet and offers a beautifully garden.
“Warm welcoming from Egzon and his wife. Actually, I'm was looking for airbnb house in Prizren, then Egzon offer a good price. I just clicked, then I realised that Egzon's house not in Prizren, 2 minutes before cancellation time. We decided to go, God always have the most right decision. We were so glad to stay in his house, and discover Gjakova town. Great town that have introduced us to Islamic life of Kosovo, very old history ee had discovered and enjoyed. Thanks Egzon.”
