Great place to stay with you family

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Matthew’s retreat. The home is spacious across both levels, making it perfect for our large family. It’s beautifully furnished-comfortable, tasteful and uncluttered. The kitchen is generously equipped. The massive deck is a real highlight. With plenty of seating, two heaters and a grill. The peaceful surroundings made it easy to connect with nature and truly unwind. Check-in and check-out were easy. The house is exactly as advertised- no surprises, just a great experience. Alex was very friendly and responsive. The place was large enough for 5 adults, 4 teens, and a dog to spread out and have a nice time. The location was lovely, and the home was very welcoming.

My husband, two young children and I stayed for a weekend, and it was amazing! The house and area was beautiful. There was a fire pit within walking distance, and Glenn gave great details on the best place to go kayaking and tubing along the river. Glenn was an amazing host, and he gave great recommendations on what to do in that area. If you have smaller kids who just love to run around outside this is a great place!

We were looking for a quiet location in a wooded setting big enough for our 3 generation family of 10, yet close enough to Berkeley Springs, local parks and Winchester. John's home checked off all the boxes. We had adequate space to spread out, a full bathroom room on each level and the best supplied kitchen of any rental in which we've ever stayed! In addition to a well-stocked kitchen with spices, cooking oils and some food items there was a basket with all the supplies needed for s'mores. I thought that was a very nice touch! There are 3 different coffee makers (Keurig, basket, French Press) and some coffee available, including decaf Keurig supplies. Took us a few minutes to find the towels but hey were near the washer and dryer in the basement and more than enough for everyone. John was easy to contact and always replied quickly. There's a blue folder in the kitchen that has some suggestions about local restaurants and places to visit. Thank you, John, for sharing your home!

Had an outstanding stay here. Very private location and a comfortable space. At the top of my list for places to stay next time we’re in Winchester.

We really enjoyed our stay in this house and Suranny was very responsive and helpful. The house was clean as can be and very spacious. Lots of natural sunlight and a wonderful covered porch to sit out on. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. We would certainly stay here again in the future.

We loved our stay! The pool was great. The views are beautiful. Everything we needed was there. We enjoyed the new Ganotown Ice Cream shop and did trail ride on horseback at Good Luck Stables.

We enjoyed our stay immensely. The house was well appointed and very private. The views were so incredible to wake up to, and the sunsets were stunning. There was a-lot to do nearby as well as at the Airbnb. We had a great time and hope to visit again!

House is beautiful and very well equipped. We are a group of cousins and kids ages 5-13. The kids loved the game room and the pool. The adults enjoyed cooking in the fancy kitchen, hanging out in the living room, and the island was a nice setup for a buffet. Everyone enjoyed hanging out at the fire pit for s’mores and the kids played softball on the front lawn and enjoyed an “epic” game of hide and seek in the house. We did have a little trouble getting in the house and one of the showers didn’t work. Alison was extremely responsive about both of these, although we weren’t able to get the shower working (I’m sure it will get fixed.) One of the bathrooms is a tub with handheld shower which the kids enjoyed and the adults found difficult, so just take that into consideration when planning.

My girlfriends and I stayed here for a weekend girls trip and unanimously agreed—this was the best Airbnb we’ve ever stayed in. The space was spotless, beautifully decorated, and incredibly well-stocked. From the cozy blankets to the ample seating and thoughtful touches throughout, everything felt intentional and welcoming. The amenities were top tier and made our stay feel elevated yet comfortable. Tracy was a fantastic host—super responsive and helpful. She reached out with helpful info before we even had questions, which made everything smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend this stay to anyone looking for a relaxing, well-appointed getaway!

Checked all the boxes for what we were looking for. Met expectations. Pool and hot tub were the highlight for us! Plenty of towels provided and the laundry machines were great. Brought some fishing rods and kids caught a couple small fish right off the dock. Lower level rooms have been shifted around and listing photos were not updated at the time of booking. There are no bunks in the lower level. Two massage chairs and smaller tv replaced one of the bedrooms. This was a plus for us since we did not need the extra sleeping accommodations and the massage chairs got a lot of usage! Kitchen was perfect for staying in and making meals. Used the propane grill with no issues. No problems with neighbors. Respected the speed limit on the gravel road and kept to ourselves. Great stay and communication with host and property manager.

So many great things to say about this place and Brian was very communicative about this property. Perfect for families with furbabies!

Excellent host. Very clean place, beautiful property. Laura was amazing. It was like staying with a good friend. We bought some of her eggs and delicious honey. We would definitely stay there again. My wife and I and our fur babies will miss Laura, Jerald, and Dasher.

I needed a place that my family, from out of state, could stay while attending a graduation. The house was perfect! I told Bob what I wanted to do and he was encouraging and helpful. He made sure we had propane for grilling and answered all my questions. He was very prompt when I reached out to him. We had an amazing time. I would stay there again.

This was a great place for us to take our daughter and decompress before she goes back to college. Enjoyed the outside area and the rustic cabin.

Beautiful property! Very relaxing. I booked the house for my family to attend my Stepmother's memorial service so we could all stay together. I would definitely book this house again. There were a few things that I would change and have made my recommendations to the owner.

Absolutely adored this cozy, modern-feeling cabin. It had a fully stocked kitchen, thoughtful supplies stocked throughout, and a great sense of decoration that felt cozy without feeling over the top. We had a relaxing time popping in a DVD from the collection, letting our dog run around the property, cooking meals, and drinking coffee with a few of the falling leaves. A short walk across the street to the creek was well worth it. They have a private grove where you can read and take in the sights and sounds of a small stream (just remember your bug spray). We also used the host's suggestions to hike Big Schloss and grab a bite in Wardensville on the way back. It was a perfect retreat in the mountains.

We had a rainy, but wonderful stay at the cabin. The location is quiet, peaceful, and the river view from the front of the house is amazing! The kitchen is well-equipped and the furnishings are comfy and cozy. Overall a great place to stay if you are looking for a peaceful retreat!

We had the best time staying at Avery’s flat! It was in pristine condition and absolutely beautiful. There was plenty of space and in a beautiful part of ton, just a few minutes walk to wonderful restaurants and shopping. It was also an easy drive to the upperville horse show grounds. We loved staying and will be again!

The Treehouse was a great location for our family! The house was absolutely beautiful - peaceful and serine for the adults and exciting for the children! Great location to stay with Shenandoah National Park nearby. Ruth’s guidebook and recommendations were helpful! Also recommend purchasing one of their steaks!! We hope to enjoy their property again in the future.

Had a great time here! The house had all the cookware and amenities we needed and we enjoyed the fireplace. We took a daily walk to the river and enjoyed the sound ms of nature. The house was so clean and we didn’t want to leave, lol! Highly recommend!
