The adventure starts at the award-winning Fitzroy Falls Visitor Centre, featuring a cafe, souvenir shop, and park that harnesses aspects of the Aboriginal people’s history in this location. From the there, it’s a short journey along the wheelchair-accessible boardwalk to reach the impressive waterfalls.

Fitzroy Falls Visitor Centre & Fitzroy Falls
Before you head to the Falls, take some time to browse the award-winning visitor centre. You’ll learn about local history, native wildlife and birdlife, and gain insight into the Aboriginal history of the region. There’s a cafe and souvenir shop, and from there, the main lookout for Fitzroy Falls is only 200 metres along the boardwalk, with easy wheelchair access. Once you reach the overhanging viewpoint, you’ll want to soak up the stunning panoramas of the magnificent falls and cliff face.
West Rim walking track
You can take the 3.5-kilometre walk through pristine eucalypt forests and lush rainforests and enjoy spectacular views of the dramatic gorges and waterfalls of Morton National Park. Following this gently rolling track, you’ll trace the western edge of the horseshoe-shaped escarpment, which leads to Renown Lookout. With panoramic points along the way, you’ll find plenty of places to stop and take in breathtaking views of the deep river valleys and waterfalls.
Fitzroy Falls to Kangaroo Valley cycling route
The 30-kilometre Fitzroy Falls to Kangaroo Valley cycling route offers views of Morton National Park from a different perspective. You’ll head to Meryla Pass at the top of the trail, down through Yarrunga Creek Valley, and finish in one of the most beautiful towns in the Southern Highlands. Along the way, you’ll discover plenty of scenic stops and wildlife, including wombats and kangaroos. Bike rentals are available in nearby Burrawang, just a 15-minute drive away.
