Holiday rentals with lake access in Fairfield County

Enjoyed our stay in the woods with a beautiful view of the river. Easy to get to and very close to the charming town of New Milford and many good restaurants. Although right off a busy road it was quiet inside the house. The great room, which is on the top floor, is wonderful and perfect for both working and entertaining and has a full bath. It looks like the photos with an amazing view. The bedrooms and another bath are underneath. The master bedroom is the best. Just be aware you can hear the footsteps from above and not all of the bedroom windows have bug screens. The entertainment room on the lower level which opens into the yard is filled with games and a large tv and was lots of fun. The weather was cool & rainy so we didn’t use the outdoor space as much as we thought we would but there was a kayak. The house was private and although there is no interior deadbolt we felt safe. The house was clean with good heat/ac and wi fi. Hosts were responsive.

A gem of a home if you’re looking for a waterfront property with great lake access. David’s home is well stocked with everything you need - from baking to cooking , from laundry to great choices of board games , a nice library if reading by the water is what you care to do . If you’re a bass fisherman like me , you have direct access to Squantz Pond, which can be a great fishing alternative to nearby Candlewood Lake. The property is close to the main road and traffic can be a nuisance to folks who are not used to it . City folks like me don’t mind it. David was a great host , very responsive . There was a slight miscommunication during check in , but that was taken care of right away . My family hopes to come back again . BTW, for those who don’t know how to play the piano , take some brief lessons before coming and impress your folks. Joe

The location suited our needs perfectly. It was close to our Jehovah’s Witness facility in Patterson NY. We had a morning tour which made it very convenient, only 20 minutes away. We not only enjoyed the peaceful quietness, we were also able to do a little fishing at the boat docks right on the property of Candlewood Isle and caught a few fish.☺️

This was the second time staying at Angela’s place and it was a great experience, again! The location is great and the back yard is so peaceful and cozy. My family says it feels like it’s our Fairfield Home! I would highly recommend it! First Class!

Ever been on a historic home tour where part of the house is roped off & they say, "this is where the family used to live"? This felt like being allowed past the rope line and stepping into history. I can't imagine how much this costs to maintain & I'm happy to have helped with that. I can't imagine what it was like trying to update a home of this age to give it modern amenities, electricity, plumbing, and really cute bathrooms, but the host has done a great job. Taller than > 5'10", watch your head! Loved looking at the miniature fittings and furnishings and details of bygone days, the solid wood plank floors were particularly fascinating to me, tiny fireplace detailing, & some old rope and pulley windows with older glass are gorgeous. Very close to Le Chateau where we were attending a wedding. Extremely comfy beds & pillows. Great modernized bathrooms. Really unique spot.

After using Airbnb for years now no other place was a perfect 10. The lake house was simply great. Not only the physical status but the follow up and generosity of the hosts where beyond. We didn’t want to leave.

A truly Great stay in Greenwich with David, we really enjoyed our stay in the house, such an awesome place and quiet location (next to a beautiful river!) too, which we loved. We had a great weekend away. The house was great and the lake was beautiful and peaceful. It was warm, clean, welcoming and felt like home. I would definitely recommend and stay again! The host was responsive and detailed, it was smooth from booking through departure. The house felt modern, clean, well laid out and totally welcoming…and you can’t beat the view!

This is a very interesting place. It's a unit in a sprawling, slightly ramshackle condo building. As the listing indicates, it is right on the lake. The unit is pretty small, but the owners have done a good job of making it comfortable. There's AC, new carpet, etc. The master bedroom, in particular, is high quality. The building is old and has some quirks. For instance, as mentioned, it is a hike to get down to the unit from where you park. However, the outside areas are wonderful. There's multiple fire pits, a dock to sit on, etc. Overall, this is a great place as long as you read the description carefully and know what you are getting.

nice size place for a person or couple. Location easy to get around to other places. Host nice likes to check in. the only challenge for high cosmetic/make up users tiny bathroom sink makes balancing bottles etc a little challenging. Big TVs in bedroom and living room. lots of parking space feet from private entrance very private quiet never heard hosts son

Margie’s place is an amazing hidden gem. The inside is very clean and comfortable. The outside is an experience of its own. The lake will drop your blood pressure immediately. Gorgeous surroundings. The dogs are friendly and lovable. We will be back! 👍🏼

Great location. Close to everything. Clean and cute! We had some car issues and so got to the Airbnb late the first night where we then ran into a little hiccup with getting through the locks but everyone from the listing was so quick to help us despite the late night message. We appreciated it so much! Would definitely stay again if they’d have us!

Ana was a great host, firstly the apartment smelled AMAZING and it was nice and cool, she had toiletries laid out and the bed was comfortable. The ambiance of the apartment was very welcoming and homey. Will definitely be back, thank you for the hosting.

Great cozy spot to visit family, with easy access to restaurants, shopping, and the highway. The apartment has a private entrance from the main house and has everything one would need for a stay.

Ricardo’s place was truly incredible. It’s such a cozy, clean and convenient spot located in a very good area. Had everything you need and have a very home-like feel. I was visiting my girlfriend for our anniversary and the weather wasn’t the greatest outside but that didn’t bother us one bit. We were comfortable cooking and eating at home and we had everything to make that happen. Ricardo and his wife were so kind and flexible with us. We would love to come back in the summertime and fully enjoy their spot again because there are great views in the backyard by the water. Well worth the price of admission. I spent the weekend at this beautiful lakeside apartment. The apartment is attached to the main home, but it is very private. There is a sloped driveway, that leads to the house. There is plenty of parking at the top near the street, and an individual space for guests, down pretty close to the door where to check-in, so I didn't have far to bring my luggage to my vehicle. My stay was so peaceful and allowed me some rest and relaxation. People were boating, fishing, and swimming in the lake. I enjoyed getting some sunshine on the upper balcony. Mark and Tina are the perfect hosts! They are the nicest couple you will ever meet. They made me feel right at home, including my dogs. Communication was excellent as any requests via text were immediately answered, and they were very flexible. I wish my stay was longer. I am hoping my schedule will allow me to return and stay again in the future. Thank you, Mark and Tina, for a wonderful weekend. I hope to see you again!

We loved our stay here. It was the perfect place for two of us and our dog. The home was just as described, welcoming, cosy and well equipped, and we appreciated all the local recommendations. We enjoyed local walks, the lake, and the great dog park, as well as easy access to Middletown to visit our son. Elisabeth and Daniel were fantastic hosts!

Benjamin's place is all you expect and more. It is clean, roomy, comfortable, and quiet. My family is all about comfortable temperatures and the AC makes each room feel great. If you are sitting on the deck, off the kitchen, there is a breeze with pretty sunrises and sunsets. Ben was a thoughtful host! I reached out with one simple question and before we knew it we had items delivered to the door - for our family and our dog! It was a delightful and welcoming touch. The cottage is so comfortable with fabulous bedding, a fantastic Jacuzzi tub, a fully stocked kitchen, and a full coffee and tea bar! Such a generous amenity. I highly recommend Benjamin's cottage.

This is a wonderful place. My wife and I loved it.

Our stay was fantastic. Traveling with two toddlers, we're always looking for ways to keep them entertained, and there was a plethora of puzzles, games, and toys at the house. The house itself is well maintained and spacious. The community is wonderful with a sandy beach and waterfront playground. The golf cart was an added bonus!

We had a GREAT time at Feyza’s cabin. It was clean, quiet and exactly as described. We especially loved the secluded setting, the lake views and the jacuzzi. Feyza was helpful, communicative and very responsive. Her digital guidebook was very insightful as to the local attractions and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again!

This place was wonderful. We were only there for a quick stay, and it was rainy, but that was ok because the cabin was so cute and cozy and fun. A bit of time sitting in the chairs out front in the morning with my coffee was exactly the quick weekend rejuvenation I needed. The cabin had everything we needed (and plenty of things we didn't need on this trip, but you might! I could see us playing board games or relaxing out on the back patio on a future trip.) A previous reviewer said this spot is what you expect an Airbnb to be, and that's exactly right. We picked it at first because it was convenient to a few Westchester things we needed to do, but we didn't want to drive home afterwards to CT on a summer Friday night. Spending this little bit of time in the Carmel area was genius because now we can't wait to go back there specifically for a real visit!

This spot was absolutely wonderful. The lake was wonderful, fireplace was a perfect touch proximity to the elephants trunk flea market was a dream and don and Roz were a pleasure to work with. Local pizza from a menu in the cabin was perfect. I could write a novel on how much we loved this place. Definitely coming back. It was a pleasure :)
