What you'll do

There will be a maximum of 3 guests on this experience.

Do you know how your camera works or are you just shooting in 'Automatic' mode and allowing the camera to make all of the decisions for you? We can help to change that! Guests do not need to have their own camera to participate in this experience, we offer a professional Canon DSLR camera which can be used for a small supplement.

I will collect guests from downtown Asheville and will venture to a variety of locations to capture different scenes. We will dedicate time to teach you how to frame, compose & take professional photographs. This is not a typical 'classroom' style session - we have fun! Ideally guests should have an awareness of at least the basic elements of their camera.

We will capture mountain vistas, maybe a waterfall and at every stop, we will offer guidance on camera settings, camera position, framing the subject, rule of thirds etc. We'll minimize the amount of driving involved in order to spend more time on location.

So many people take their cameras on vacation but never learn how to use them properly. Reading a camera manual is time consuming & complicated. We can make it fun for you to learn how to use your camera whilst touring nature and the beautiful sites of Asheville.

Brass Monkey Photography offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Where you'll be

The itinerary could vary (dependent on seasonality & also avoiding large crowds) but will start in Asheville and then typically include mountains or a waterfall and end back in Asheville. The idea is to give a VARIETY of settings and light conditions all important factors in photography.

Natasha was great!! I purchased this experience for my daughter’s 19th birthday and she truly learned a lot and throughly enjoyed herself. We both felt very comfortable and welcome. My daughter has a gluten allergy and Natasha went out of her way to accommodate! She was very kind and even gave my daughter a birthday card. Awesome experience!!
