I was lucky enough to have a private tour today, as I was the only person who booked this time slot. I really appreciated that they still ran the tour just for me. Before booking, I read many reviews of other companies, and there were lots of complaints about unexpected hidden fees. That wasn't the case with this company. Everything was included, even the moto taxi. Any additional donations were completely voluntary, and I was happy to contribute—I honestly don't understand why anyone wouldn't. Yes, this favela is safe for tourists, and you'll see activities organized specifically for visitors. I think that's completely logical and expected—one goes hand in hand with the other. My guide, Laura, was very friendly, knowledgeable, and spoke perfect English. The organizer, Brian, stayed in touch throughout the process and made sure everything ran smoothly.
