I've been a San Francisco resident since 1972. My life as an activist started shortly after I arrived and has continued to this day. I lived in The Castro in the 70s and knew many of the leading figures in the movement. What we’ll do

We’ll start at Harvey Milk Plaza and then stroll through The Castro. We’ll walk along the Rainbow Honor Walk where I’ll share stories about some of the heroes of the movement, like James Baldwin and Sylvester. We’ll stop at the hub for community organizing (before the internet, we had to organize in person!), Harvey Milk’s camera store, and two of the bars that were the site of historic and…
