I absolutely loved this experience, the artisan is an extremely talented artist and showed me how he does his work, then let me try it out for myself! It was extremely rewarding and I even got something to take home. This was a great way to experience India, through the eyes and hands of its artists. Mahi, my guide, was communicative and prompt and helped translate/guide me through the whole process. This didn’t feel curated or inauthentic at all. Would highly recommend this or any of the other Studio Rajasthan experiences to anyone visiting Jaipur.

Shri Mihan Lal Sharma is a master Tanaka maker. the class is one on one, with a translator, also lovely. It is at his home workshop which is a little hard to find but we stayed in contact with them on Airbnb messages and my driver via phone, so with a slight delay we made it. Master Sharma is kind, warm, patient, kind and welcoming. Tarkashi is not so easy, but fascinating to understand the work that goes into it. made a beautiful Keychain, and purchased some of the master's work at a very good price. highly recommend. Worth noting: Rajasthani Studios is a group of young people inspired to promote and protect traditional crafts. well worth supporting!
