What you'll do
We will be working in Sally's Kitchen where we will start with a small introduction to fermenting, it's story and why gut health is so important today. We will then make a fermented recipe either a sauerkraut or a kimchi together. The ingredients will vary depending on the season and what is in Sallys vegetable garden and local produce at the nearby Urban Farm project for the community. We will then enjoy a sample platter of gut healthy and raw foods and talk about what you have learnt and how you can move forwards with your new experience and what you will learn at your experience. The session will take be approximately 1 1/2 hours. Due to the safety features of the home, children under 10 are not able to participate.
My passion is empowering individuals to take control of their health. I have been fermenting for over 4 years and love teaching about the power of healing foods. This also overlaps with my love of nutrition and whole foods and raw plant based foods. I am accredited as a Nutrition mentor and a Raw Food Chef and love to share my knowledge and experience.

Where you'll be
We will be holding our fermenting workshop in Sally's Kitchen - this is a galley style with a special outlook. Depending on what Sally is fermenting at the time there can be several brews, for example water kefir, coconut yogurt, fermented vegetables, sauerkrauts and kimchi's. Sally's kitchen is a special place to see and experience. We live sustainably and compost our waste.

Up to 4 guests ages 18 and up can attend.
You’ll need to take a picture of yourself that matches the photo on your ID. This is so Airbnb can confirm who’s actually going on the experience. You’ll only have to do this once.
This is an introduction to fermenting and raw foods. You do not need any previous experience. Many countries around the world have their own unique fermented foods - this is an opportunity to make, try and taste these live food creations.
