What you'll do
Touch of Class II boat tours will depart daily for a 3 hour tour - a unique opportunity on the Huntsville chain of lakes. Captain Dan will share the rich history of the local lakes and area - the Algonquin Steamship era, the development of tourism and Huntsville’s evolution over the years, as well as numerous tidbits of information and lore that only a local would know. The tour passes through the heart of Huntsville’s waterfront which is home to numerous restaurants and shops where a stop can be made . Guests are also welcome to pack their own food. ( no alcoholic beverages as per Ontario boating regulations) or can stock up on snacks at the marina store before departing. Once a tour is booked, Captain Dan and guests can customize the tour to satisfy guest’s particular interests while out on the water. Life jackets and all safety equipment will provided. Children’s life jackets must be provided by parents to ensure weight requirements are met. Guests are responsible for dressing appropriately for weather conditions and bringing hats and sunscreen. Please note** The boat does not have a washroom. An outdoor facility at the marina is open July and August.
I am a retired teacher/principal with 50 years of boating experience. I have taught the Red Cross, Power Squadron and basic boating courses to hundreds of Muskoka students. As well I previously operated a boat tour business on the Huntsville chain of lakes from 1983-1992. In 1992 , I piloted my 30’ trawler from Ontario to the Bahamas and back. From 2005 - 2008 I sailed our 28’ sailboat on the waters of Georgian Bay.

Where you'll be
The Touch of Class II boat tour will navigate the chain of lakes in the Huntsville area - Pen, Fairy, Vernon and Mary. In accessing these lakes we will pass through a century old canal, travel down the Muskoka River and if going into Mary Lake experience a manually operated lock. Points of interest along the way include the location of historic resorts, the location of the original Portage Flyer and the final resting place of the Algonquin.

For a full refund, cancel at least 7 days before the experience is scheduled to start or within 24 hours of purchase.
Always communicate through Airbnb. To protect your payment, never transfer money or communicate outside of the Airbnb website or app.
Up to 6 guests ages 18 and up can attend. Parents may also bring children under 2 years of age.
You’ll need to take a picture of yourself that matches the photo on your ID. This is so Airbnb can confirm who’s actually going on the experience. You’ll only have to do this once.
Should weather conditions and marine forecasts be deemed too risky for the tour to take place, Captain Dan will be make arrangements to either reschedule or refund fees as mutually agreed upon.
