So glad I did this! The Portland Farmers Market is chock full of beautiful and delicious things to see, sample & buy. All of the vendors were so friendly & passionate about their products. Chef Sonya is the perfect guide! She is warm, welcoming, knows many of the vendors personally & is so knowledgeable about food & local specialties. Cannot recommend this experience enough!

Chose this tour as part of a moms trip, and Sonya delivered on a memorable experience! From her enthusiasm for local beans to sharing her favorite strawberries to highlighting unique items to try, you will not regret going on this tour. We came out of this tour having learned so much about the food as well as stories at the market. Will definitely join up again in the future when we're in town!

We had such a fantastic experience on this farmers market tour. Our host was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly well connected within the community. She knew exactly where to go for the best of everything and shared so many helpful tips along the way. You can tell this is truly her happy place—her passion for the market, the people, and the food is contagious. She brought everything to life by sharing stories and background about many of the farmers and producers, which made the experience feel much more personal and meaningful. We also loved learning what’s in season, along with practical tips on how to store and prepare different items. It felt like we walked away with both a great experience and useful knowledge we’ll actually use. Whether visiting or local, this tour is absolutely worth it! Sonya was hospitable, knowledgeable, and accommodating, adjusting the tour to the groups' interests and levels of experience around the kitchen and ingredients. She has a clear passion for food, but especially people. Not only did we engage with seasonal produce and prepared foods, but we also learned about the market's history and the people who make it so special. We often stepped aside on our walk to hear Sonya share about the person behind each booth, their story, what brought them here, what makes them stand out. I left feeling connected to the community and encouraged to come back. This tour is truly a gold star experience, no matter the time of year. I would recommend this tour to anyone even remotely interested. The weekend I visited was a sunny, mild day so there was a decent crowd, and Sonya does warn about scarce parking during summer months. Overall, parking and getting around was easy as an out-of-towner.
