What you'll do
** NOV 17 to FEB 28 NOTE** Bees stay inside hives during cold weather (>50 deg) since they can’t fly and must stay warm to survive winter. Hives are closed Nov 1st to Feb 28 to protect them. However, our honey-food-mead tasting by a Michelin Star rated Chef is all the buzz! Learn fun bee facts while indulging your palate. Free bee hive visits after March 1st are included. Are you an outdoor enthusiast, gardener, or foodie that wants a better understanding of how little pollinators work their magic? Looking for a GREAT gift? Come learn what all the buzz is about :) This is a fun opportunity to get to inspect a busy beehive. You'll get the chance to explore the complex and beautiful makeup of our sweet friends. First, we’ll suit up in protective gear. Then we’ll head to the Apiary where you'll learn about the art of beekeeping and the various tools used. Now it's time to inspect a hive. Hold a frame covered with 100's of bees ... a great photo opp! Find Drones, Workers, Brood and hopefully the Queen! Press your finger into the comb and taste the freshest honey ever! Finally, we’ll gather for a delicious honey/food pairing created by a Michellin Star rated chef. This fun tour often sparks the flame to adopt a hive. At the end you'll get a jar of our local honey! Bring a friend, spouse, or co-worker! Guaranteed to be fun, educational, and with great photos :)

I also love teaching “Make Mead With A Beekeeper” - another fun Airbnb Experience! My goal is to promote beekeeping and be an advocate for the well-being of bees. BOOKING TIP: want to schedule a fun work team off-sight, family and/or friends adventure? Just send an inquiry with your request. Special weekday times are available for groups (8-15 people) during March-October.

Things to keep in mind
Any experience can be cancelled and fully refunded within 24 hours of purchase, or at least 7 days before the experience starts.
Always communicate through Airbnb. To protect your payment, never transfer money or communicate outside of the Airbnb website or app.
Up to 10 guests ages 6 and up can attend. This is not an activity for anyone highly allergic to bee stings. However, you will be wearing protective beekeeping clothes. The chances of being stung are very small, especially as my Italian bees are gentle…
You’ll need to take a picture of yourself that matches the photo on your ID. This is so Airbnb can confirm who’s actually going on the experience. You’ll only have to do this once.
