This tour is a hidden gem! We got to see the beautiful canals right at sunrise, and there was almost no one else out there. Grant knew every bird by call alone, and showed us spots that the larger party boat tours don’t go. If you’re looking for an outdoorsy excursion in CDMX, this is the one.

Grant was excellent! One of the best experiences I've had, a great and unique way to see a part of Mexico that I had never explored before. 1000% would do again.

Grant knows Xochimilco (and its history and birds) quite well. Really fun and beautiful trip, and a much different way to explore the area. Well worth the early start; and don’t worry, it’s not a hard paddle at all (no strong current and sheltered from wind).

Great way to explore Xochimilco.
Small group and great story by Grant, different from other tours as no crowded space .

I've had amazing time, learned a lot and have seen more cute birds that I can count.
The canals are beautiful and quiet at this time if day.
Highly recommend!

About me
chinampas. birds, paddling!
I grew up canoeing the lakes and rivers of the Ozarks, then spent years whitewater canoeing and kayaking in the Pacific Northwest. After moving to Mexico City in 2011, I began paddling the canals of Xochimilco, exploring lesser-known canals and befriending farmers in the chinampas. I have spent a lot of time crafting an unforgettable experience.
