What you'll do

We'll introduce you to all the animals at Heritage Farm.

Our sheep will come up for a pat. And you will get to hand feed them some lucerne or grass hay. Depending on the time of year, we sometimes have a baby lamb you can help feed too.

We'll check out our ducks and chooks and you'll get to help scatter feed for them. We often have ducklings or chickens as well, that you'll get to hold and pet. However we don't always have them (we only keep them in the brooder for a very short time). If you really want to see baby chicks or ducklings please get in touch first to see if we have them.

Our alpacas, Chance, Chase, Dino and Eureka are more regal and less affectionate. They'll come up for some food if the group is calm and quiet, but too many squeals will frighten them off.
Other things to note
Please wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. You will be touching hay, and animals. Depending on the weather the farm may be muddy. There will be poo on the ground so wear closed toed shoes.

We had a wonderful time with Rory! The kids loved getting up and close with all the animals - especially feeding the baby lambs (we were so lucky). Such a great experience! Thank you for sharing your farm with us and helping to educate the kids on caring for animals and sustainable farming.

We had such a lovely time experiencing a snippet of life on a farm! Matt & Rach were super friendly and welcoming. It was a bit wet that day, but it was still super enjoyable! Matt & Rach even reached out the day before ensuring we dressed appropriately, and were very accommodating to keep us as dry as possible during our hands-on tour. Lots of friendly chickens, ducks, geese, sheep and alpacas to feed. Would definitely recommend this fun, family friendly, farm activity!

Matt and Rach are wonderful hosts. A lovely day out for the whole family getting up close and personal with the chickens, sheep and alpacas. Matt was very knowledgeable and welcoming and we were able to go at our own pace. The kids had such a ball. I would highly recommend.

Our family of four, including our 6 and 4 year old daughters was, were spending a week in Blairgowrie and were looking for activities close by. Air BnB auto suggested this experience and as we have done previous farm visits with the kids so were happy to give this one a go as well. Our host for the day and co-owner of the farm, Matt, gave us a great tour of their operations and had plenty of knowledge to go along with it. We learned and had one on one contact with the chickens, sheep, ducks and alpacas with a chance to learn about them all as well as feeding them. Their style of farming definitely puts the well being of their animals first. I had little expectations of the experience as my partner organised it but was we all left very happy with Matt and would recommend a visit to his and Rach's farm.
